"Other people are doing it" is not a justification for being dishonest or disrespectful.
Character is more than who you are at your best. It's who you become when your peers are at their worst.
The heart of integrity is upholding your principles even if others abandon theirs.

Hey managers: It's not the office we're avoiding. It's the clear costs and unclear benefits of leaving home.
People are happy to show up when the pros outweigh the cons. Make commuting and childcare less expensive, collaboration more predictable, and distractions more escapable.

Here's my core "Agile" process:
(1) Talk to user customers and figure out the most important thing I can build in a few days max.
(2) Build it (talking to users as I do and deploying frequently).
(3) Repeat.
That's it. Everything else is noise.

When you need help, it’s better to ping one person than a group.
Data: messages to multiple recipients get fewer and less helpful replies. Diffusion of responsibility kicks in: "I'm not needed—someone else will do it!"
Generosity rises with a sense of unique contribution.

The psychological safety hierarchy of needs at work by @heidipsychology. I appreciate how Heidi has created three categories. At the base are basic safety needs like not being micromanaged. Next is psychological needs like belonging & sense of esteem. At the top is self-fulfilment needs, the ability to be our true, authentic selves. People who work at the top of their pyramid are the ones with the potential to deliver the best performance.

It's more expensive to hire and train a new employee than it is to retain an existing employee by adjusting their pay.
Give them that raise.

Today marks 12 years of the ongoing Syrian tragedy. I wrote a book about my home so we never forget it as we count the years and integrate with other countries and cultures.
Find it in your local bookshop or buy it here amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/1781620…

A senior developer in one stack might be a junior in many others.
But their expertise is not defined by their stack.
It is defined by their language-agnostic mindset.
If someone develops this mindset, picking up a new language or framework takes only a couple of weeks.

So much of corporate culture—everything from timesheets to expense reports & receipt tracking, to team-level managers, to needing permission to take a class or buy a book—indicates distrust. You can't be agile if you don't trust the people doing the work to make the decisions.

Your intelligence cannot be measured by a number. It is defined by your willingness to learn, solve problems and try new things. You are more than just a number. Develop your skills. Share your brilliant ideas. Your skills are more valuable than your grades. 🧠
