“The righteousness of Christ (in his obedience and suffering for us) imputed unto believers, as they are united unto him by his Spirit, is that righteousness whereon they are justified before God.”

At this year’s Shepherds’ Conference, which was devoted to celebrating the biblical convictions of John MacArthur, I took the time to defend a doctrine that was close to Pastor John’s heart and an emphasis of his faithful expository preaching ministry: the imputation of the active obedience of Christ.
Somewhat inexplicably, this cornerstone of the Gospel, which is such welcome Good News to sinners sensible of their sin, is often opposed—both by enemies of the Gospel as well as by misguided believers. And so it stands in need of vindication.
Jesus our Substitute has died for our sins and lived for our righteousness.
He has fully paid the penalty of our sins by shedding His precious blood on the cross,
and He fully obeyed every demand that God’s law required of sinners—
so that, by the imputation of our disobedience to Christ, the record of our sins is wiped clean,
and by the imputation of Christ’s obedience to us, all that God requires of man stands accomplished.
Our penalty is paid by His substitutionary death,
and the personal, perfect, and perpetual obedience to God’s law, which we have failed to render, is rendered on our account by His substitutionary life.
Here’s the link to the seminar, along with a handout to help follow along. I pray it’s a blessing.

The Reformed (let the reader understand) are 100%, absolutely correct on the Doctrine of the Trinity and Christology. We would all - yes, all - do well to humbly study Nicene Trinitarianism and Chalcedonian Christology and align ourselves to it. P.S - Jesus has two wills.

Don’t daydream about a big or even influential ministry.
Desire a faithful one no matter how obscure or seemingly insignificant it may or may not be.
The world says “ego is the enemy” and that’s correct.
The Bible says pride brings destruction and that is absolutely true.

“He imputes His life to the believing Christian.”
So thankful for the active obedience of Christ. No hope without it.

Wonderful preaching from Pastor @MikeRiccardi_ this past Lord’s Day at Grace Community Church.
A distinctively @RefDisp_ view of the dynamics of the kingdom of God, punctuated wonderfully by a great quote from Pastor John MacArthur.

Voddie was a valiant warrior for the truth of the Word of God and the Gospel.
He taught me back in 2018 just how deadly this woke, leftist ideology is.
Here is one of his last ever closing prayers.
We will miss him dearly and we will see him again.

"In a present and limited, but very real and miraculous way, God's kingdom is coming to earth each time a new soul is brought into the kingdom [by saving faith]." John MacArthur, 'The Gospel of Matthew', pg. 381.

A string of questions for us all:
Do you accurately present the actions and views of those you take issue with?
Or do you allow your desire to look good, to win an argument, or have others land on your side override what is actually true?
As Christians we should be honest.

They say they shall be delivered out of captivity, and restored into their own land, and enjoy peace...there. We also say the same concerning them...We acknowledge that the promises mentioned are not yet all of them actually fulfilled toward them.
