BREAKING: The largest electric truck order in US history is made by ZET SCALE, a new shippers' alliance: 2,500 Class 8 e-trucks!
@Tesla_semi is named primary truckmaker and Kenworth, RIDE and Volvo as secondary OEMs carriers can pick.
More: evwire.com/p/zet-scale-2500-…
Tesla won the slot through an independently run competitive RFP, with bids scored on price, range, charging capability and production capacity. The alliance's ambition runs to 10,000 trucks and beyond.
"The Tesla Semi is designed for lower cost per mile operations than diesel. ZET SCALE's goals are exciting because they take the operational cost advantage and predictability that electricity provides and amplifies it at scale. We are proud to have been the primary selection in this RFP and look forward to giving shippers and carriers a new competitive edge.

NEWS: Czechia becomes the seventh country in Europe to approve Tesla Full Self-Driving system.
EU-wide decision is still set for October 6th.
Ministry of Transport of Czechia wrote:
"This step was preceded by months of expert evaluation and discussions with Czech and international experts, as well as Tesla representatives. We were particularly interested in how the system functions in everyday operation, how it responds to traffic signs and speed limits, and how it ensures that the driver continues to pay attention to driving.
“Experiences from countries where the system is already in use were also important. We want modern technologies to pave the way onto Czech roads. Safety remains the top priority."
