Recently a subscriber pointed out China's vast refining capacity, and that they use their oil reserves as a tool, drawing them down and waiting things out. They asked if I felt that with the U.S. midterm elections coming up, wouldn't hobbling the Trump administration be in their long-term interest. China has the world’s second largest economy. The World Bank says that 21 percent of China’s gross domestic product comes from exports, and the International Monetary Fund says that 11 percent of those exports go directly to the U.S. (This excludes indirect exports.) If there were a global recession based on the economic crisis triggered by the Iran war and oil prices, China would have a major domestic economic problem. The danger to China of losing up to 21 percent of its income far outweighs any short- or long-term impact it could have on the U.S. midterms.

There is currently widespread concern that rapid technological change will fundamentally change the nature of work. In this paper we show that, despite 140 years of technological change, more than 70 percent of employment today is located in occupations whose core economic functions already existed in the late nineteenth century. lup.lub.lu.se/search/files/2…

GOLD TELEGRAPH CONVERSATION 21: DOUG CASEY "The world is going to go back to gold. And the only question is at what price?" In this wide-ranging conversation, Doug Casey explores why he believes the international monetary system is approaching a historic turning point, why central banks are accumulating gold, and how America's growing debt burden could reshape the global financial order. We discuss the consequences of abandoning the gold standard in 1971, the weaponization of the U.S. dollar, China's monetary ambitions, and why Doug believes a return to gold-backed system could require a dramatically higher gold price. Beyond monetary policy, Doug reflects on his remarkable career as an investor, his experiences traveling to more than 150 countries, the future of individual freedom, and why he sees extraordinary opportunities in energy and mining stocks. Doug Casey is a legendary contrarian investor, author of Crisis Investing, and founder of Casey Research. Thank you for joining me, Doug. It’s still meaningless small amounts. The merging of neutron stars—a kilonova—is the only place where the pressure is high enough and the neutron flow fast enough to build such a heavy element. The collision must produce heat up to an insanely high 10 billion degrees C to allow the “rapid neutron capture” required to produce gold. As a reference, our sun’s core is only 15 million degrees C. frankgiustra.com/posts/the-f…
Last month, we demonstrated high-rate alchemy: turning mercury into real, stable gold, beating CERN’s record by a factor of 10. Last week, we enriched isotopes in the world’s most powerful plasma centrifuge, beating the Soviet record that stood for 40 years. Now, we’re building a fusion reactor in San Francisco to achieve record power density.

An American PMC provides security to the president of DRC. Not saying Kennedy was in on that. But there are several extremely high profile security jobs run by U.S. PMC's in DRC that would put their personnel in direct competition with Russian interests there.

Many people forget this: In August 2025, the Federal Reserve published a research note looking at what would happen if the United States revalued its 261.5 million ounces of gold from the absurd statutory price of $42.22 an ounce toward market value. Funny how things come around. I will never forget Ron Paul telling me on my show about asking Ben Bernanke why central banks owned gold. His answer? “Tradition.” The Federal Reserve itself is publishing research discussing gold revaluation. I wonder what Ben thinks about all of this today. Let’s watch how all of this unfolds…

CDC is aware of and closely monitoring reports of a suspected case of pneumonic plague in the Irkutsk region of Russia that resulted in a death. We are working across the U.S. government to assess developments as additional information becomes available. While the circumstances of this reported case remain unconfirmed, plague is a serious bacterial disease that is treatable with antibiotics, particularly when recognized and treated early. Pneumonic plague can spread person-to-person through respiratory droplets during close contact, which is why rapid identification and treatment of infected individuals, and monitoring of potentially exposed individuals, are important public health measures. At this time, there is no indication of a broader threat to the United States, but CDC and our interagency partners are prepared and will continue to monitor the situation closely.
