Our recently conducted interview with Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Chief of the Air Staff, Indian Air Force
Part-1
Excerpts of the interview (more tomorrow)
On the Su-30MKI upgrade plans
The Su-30MKI is the mainstay of the IAF’s combat potential, and keeping it at the cutting edge for decades to come is a clear priority. The upgrade programme is designed to do exactly that.
The upgrade covers the systems at the heart of the aircraft’s combat effectiveness: electronic warfare systems, the airborne radar, navigation and mission control systems, communication systems, cockpit displays and the weapon control system. Once upgraded, these systems will be both contemporary and indigenously sourced. The aircraft will be better equipped for the contested environments of the future and bring the fleet the freedom to integrate and upgrade on our own terms.
The proposal is presently being processed by the Department of Defence Production for approval by the Cabinet Committee on Security. Development work on all the systems has already begun, following the accord of Acceptance of Necessity. Starting development early means the programme is building momentum even as the approval process runs its course.
When complete, the upgraded Su-30MKI will remain a formidable cornerstone of the core combat fleet, increasingly powered by Indian technology. The IAF is committed to seeing this programme through, so that our frontline fighter stays ahead of the threats it is designed to meet.

As promised, I'm giving out my thoughts on the IN ship classes which pioneered innovation. Let me know your views.
Any resemblance (or lack of it) to any other project or Service or ongoing discussion(s) on X is purely coincidental and unintended ;-)
I SEE TOPOLOGY OPTIMIZATION 🧐
Vyomitra got it's Armour (jk) and face shell, looks like gaganyaan harness and integration work is still happening.
Long way to go,I still doubt how confident ISRO will be going even for a unmanned launch without TVD-2, basically test at transonic and maxQ AFAIK (my opinion)

Hello, Indian spaceflight community!
Over the past few months, we’ve hosted a few community meets to introduce indianspaceflight.in. Since then, we’ve made many changes and added several new features.
Instead of hosting another introductory meet, we thought it would be more useful to create a complete User Manual so people can explore the platform at their own pace and return whenever they need help. We’ve also created a dedicated page where you can read the guide or download the full PDF.
The guide explains every major feature on the platform:
• Accounts and Profiles — Create an account, manage your public profile, continue drafts, read notifications, save bookmarks and track your contributions and reputation.
• Missions — Every launch is treated as a Mission. Each Mission record brings together details about that particular launch, including its date, rocket, launch site, target orbit, milestones and related information.
• Payloads and Spacecraft — These are the satellites, spacecraft, experiments or other payloads launched as part of a particular Mission. Each one has its own record connected to the Mission that carried it.
• Launch Vehicles — These are the rockets used to launch Missions. Their profiles cover rocket families and variants, specifications, operators, status, development history and previous launches.
• IROLOS — A registry of India-linked payloads, rocket bodies and orbital debris. It includes searchable records and a 3D globe for exploring their calculated orbital positions and paths.
• Companies and Organisations — A directory for exploring Indian space companies and organisations, along with their founders, leadership, milestones, programmes and other information.
• Universal Connections — A system that connects related Missions, Payloads, Launch Vehicles, Companies, orbital objects, archives, RTIs, articles and Forum discussions.
• Archive Bank — A place for preserving and exploring historical documents, photographs, videos and other material related to Indian spaceflight.
• RTI Database and RTI Tree — A structured collection of Right to Information requests and responses. The RTI Tree shows how original requests, follow-ups and related RTIs are connected.
• Forum — A complete community forum where members can create posts, polls and replies, discuss the latest space news, share opinions and have detailed conversations with other members.
• Latest — Our flagship long-form publishing feature. Members can create detailed blog posts, dedicated news reports, explainers and analysis about a particular topic or development.
• Rich Text Editor — A complete writing tool for creating posts and articles with formatting, images, videos, tables, links, embeds and connections to platform records.
• Community Chat — A place for members to have direct and group conversations, share media, reply to messages and react to discussions.
• Mission Calendar — A calendar for following launches, tests, milestones, workshops, outreach programmes and other important events.
• Hall of Indian Space Pioneers — Our dedicated Hall of Fame honouring the people who built and shaped India’s space programme. New pioneers will be inducted once every year on 15 August. This year’s induction was delayed because we missed our planned timeline, but we will complete it soon.
• Telemetry Tracking Center — A desktop simulator for exploring modelled launch trajectories, flight stages, timelines and other mission details.
• Community Contributions — Members can add information, suggest corrections and submit content for review to help improve the platform’s records over time.
All these features are currently live, although some contribution tools require an approved account or the relevant permissions.
Read the User Manual or download the complete PDF here:
indianspaceflight.in/user-ma…
We kindly invite every community member to contribute whatever reliable information, corrections, sources or historical material they can. Our goal is to make this the most detailed, accurate and up-to-date database of Indian spaceflight—and that can only happen with the community’s support.
If you would still like another live session where we walk through the platform, explain its features and answer questions, we would love to host one again. Leave a comment on this post if you are interested, and we’ll find a suitable date and organise it. #ISRO #IndianSpaceflight #IndianSpace #SpaceCommunity #NewSpaceIndia #SpaceTechnology #SpaceResearch #SpaceEnthusiasts

Interesting observation 👇👇
Aug 23rd, 2023 is when 🇮🇳 ISRO Chandrayaan-3 probe landed near Moon's South Pole(1st globally)
Indian Govt celebrates Aug 23rd as National Space Day
Tomorrow's Space Day event schedule doesn't even mention ISRO?
Has ISRO been forgotten/omitted?
