Halo: Dreamcast Evolved is now in the bug fixes and playtesting phase. Campaign progress is about 65% completed. Matchmaking Multiplayer is now also in testing on real hardware.

Did anyone want MULTIPLAYER on Halo: Dreamcast Evolved? She's a comin'! Here's 8 minutes of footage from MULTIPLAYER, OUTPOST FIREFIGHT, and CAMPAIGN! Play the way YOU want to play! Standard DC pad, mouse+keyboard, and even modern controller support (requires adapter) with two joysticks. Remap the controls up to 2 keys/buttons per action. Play your way! A lot of you have asked for ammo count on the VMU, so not only will it show you ammo for every weapon you have equipped, it also shows your entire loadout: the weapon you have on your back AND both grenades. No need to swap between weapons or grenades to find out, just look down at your controller for a moment to check! Two people have joined the project to wire up network play. The plan is three ways to find a match: local LAN, Dreamcast to Dreamcast over direct IP address (you can save these as "friends" to easily connect later), and crossplay. Meanwhile the lobby itself is in: seven game types (Slayer, Team Slayer, King of the Hill, Crazy King, Capture the Flag, Oddball, Race), Spartan customisation, and bots to shoot at while the netcode lands. With DC-to-DC IP and LAN, the game will forever be playable online and not tied to requiring lobby servers to preserve our slice of Dreamcast online gaming history. Two networking folks have joined the team to help wire up crossplay between PC and Dreamcast (optional), through BBA or even... if you dare... DreamPi. Also featuring the Dreamcast-first exclusive mode, OUTPOST FIREFIGHT, where you create your player and run through through contracts in a story-based firefight mode to build your base, earn your Mjolnir Mark V and VI through story, and experience the first wave of Spartan volunteers post-Halo 3. And of course, the ENTIRE Halo: Combat Evolved campaign right here on Sega Dreamcast.
