Yesterday at StableSummit Cannes, @bwein_ gave an important talk: It’s Time We Reconsider Algo-Stablecoins
Ben talks the Terra/Luna collapse, pointing to its equity model and lack of bank-run-prevention mechanisms, and offers hope in the form of Pinto's credit model, its novel bank-run-dampening mechanisms, and how we can bring organic, utility-based demand on chain.
Instead of asking whether or not we can create a perfectly stable token with endogenous value, Ben asks: Is it possible to create an algorithmic monetary policy that is able to sufficiently dampen the volatility of a currency to create competitive utility with censorable mediums of exchange and units of account?”

→ -208k in TWA∆P, meaning we’re still seeing an average surplus in liquidity pools
→ total supply is now 10.8M pinto ($9.17M)
on the liquidity side:
→ $3.48M sits across the pools
→ $15.6k in volume over the past hour — steady flow
from the Field:
→ 232 Pinto were sown this Season in exchange for 2,474 Pods
→ interest (Max Temperature) now sits at 964.5%, slightly down from last Season
as always, the protocol is adjusting itself , nudging toward equilibrium.

Update on my Pinto Journey:
1) Have managed to DCA into PODS over the past weeks, now at just over 80K. Plan will be to deposit all the yield into the Silo as the PODS become redeemable for PINTO
2) PINTO price has finally bounced, up 50% from the lows experienced during the market-wide correction, fair to say any farmers that had doubt left the Farm
3) The devs deployed Tractor - a set of contracts allowing farmers to automate their farming strategies, with the first action being Sowing of PODS = 🔥
This is a HUGE updrade, something that has been worked on for many months/years and it increases Sowing efficiency dramatically
4) The interest rate Pinto offers on PODS seems to have topped for now at roughly 1400% and has dropped nearly 100% since Tractor was deployed
5) It does seem like most of the Sowing has been done by current farmers, would be great to see an uptick in new deposits/creditors to make it easier to suss new demand for Pinto
6) The Podline is up around 34M now, so current farmers that are Sowing now are expecting Pinto's supply to increase at least 69M before their PODS can be redeemed - considering how young Pinto is and similar previous projects supply metrics they are confident in Pinto's future
7) There have been a few new farmers that have joined the farm and can see what lays ahead - always great to see
Overall things are looking pretty bullish - #stablecoin chat on the TL seems to be increasing everyday
Lots of people noticing the up-only nature of stablecoin supply and are looking for ways to capitalise, it's only a matter of time before Pinto catches the eye's of those that can see the potential
Gotta hand it to those building @pintodotmoney, it's an ambitious goal taking on #USDC and #USDT - one that deserves credit..

over the past month ethereum has experienced over 30% in decrease.
pinto also experienced approximately 40% in decrease.
looking at the bigger picture, pinto’s intense drop is still really bullish for the long term.
this is because, early phase volatility is normal. stablecoins or value pegged assets often go through volatility early on, not to mention the current market conditions.
also, rough markets tests the conviction of the team imo, the team keeps building and adding utilities despite the sentiment. which is bullish btw
rough markets also identifies the weak hands.
if the goal at pinto.money is long term, then they’ll need only strong holders who are also convicted about the goal.
lastly, this is a time to pay attention and keep building.

recently started looking into @pintodotmoney money.
which is aiming to become a stable, censorship-resistant form of money built entirely on @base 💙
one of the most interesting parts for me is how it avoids all the wild price swings you see in most tokens.
pinto’s goal is to behave like a “normal coin” stable in value, predictable, and reliable to actually use.
not something you hold just to gamble, but something you can treat like real money.
pinto has two parts:
> the silo – helps you earn passive yield by simply holding $pinto.
> the field – you lend $pinto (aka sowing) and get paid back later with more. fully onchain.
pinto.money is simple, permissionless, and was built for real usage.
as base becomes home to users and developers, stable and reliable money systems like pinto will be key.
