Here I was, building a two story log home, and I had no electricity, everything done by muscle, tree felling, hauling on shoulder, basic calculation, tools, and not knowing how to build a roof.
I had to design the roof, using 2x6 rafters, 6 of them.

One of the more haunting things in my WWII collection…
Years ago I picked up a badly worn, pocket-size dictionary at a local thrift store. It wasn’t until I got home that I found this note tucked inside its pages.
I tried to find a descendant of the author, hoping to gift them this note, but from my research I concluded that he died without having any children. – at North Carolina, USA

1. Survey of the 7 connected mounds at the now-completely destroyed Turner site in Ohio. They all had outer stone wall foundations just under the outer dirt. Several others at the large complex also had outer stone walls.

How did the incredible drawings of horses, cave lions, mammoths, bears, and bison survive for 37,000 years in France’s Chauvet Cave? Archaeologists studied the famed rock art with UV light to try to figure out what made the cave’s conditions special.

Mining Bees get their name because they dig mines! These mines are burrows that they excavate from the soil, with chambers where they lay their eggs.
They also leave their eggs with stores of pollen and nectar (mixed into bee bread) so that their larvae have something to eat when they hatch.
Here are two of my photos from this summer: both bees were living in my garden lawn 🐝

There's an island off Brazil where snakes have evolved to eat migrating birds and almost nothing else.
Ilha da Queimada Grande, 33 km (21 mi) off São Paulo, is home to the golden lancehead, a highly venomous pit viper found nowhere else on Earth.

Oleshky evacuation:
🇺🇦 17 big buses to Ukraine
🇷🇺 4 minibuses to Russia, windows covered
Russian vlogger Vladimir Romanov said so. Then he vanished.
Russia caused this suffering. Nobody wants Russia.
