*tap tap is this thing on…first 2XKO competitive post incoming* With Alpha Lab coming up on August 8th, we wanted to set expectations for what to expect with regards to our support for community-run tournaments. First, we absolutely love to see many of you setting up events and tournaments for 2XKO this early. Community events are incredibly important to any fighting game, and essential to our vision for how to support the fighting game community. As we’ve mentioned, Alpha Lab is still very early on—it’s a first draft of our core game, and there’s some cool stuff in there we’re looking to get feedback on, but we’re not quite at the point where we’re fully able to support TOs and event organizers. So along with most of the game still being highly WIP, we won’t have local play or offline mode, and spectator features that would make organizing tournaments much easier. It won’t be impossible to do, but we wanted to be transparent about some of these restrictions ahead of time! We believe deeply in partnering with the FGC on the future of competitive 2XKO, and we can’t wait to live up to that promise more as we approach launch in 2025.
