The average Canadian doesnโ€™t make in one year what Mark Carney can gobble down on an airplane. Theyโ€™re laughing at you.
๐Ÿšจ๐ŸšจNew personal record for Carney: Carney and entourage drop $175,000 on airplane food during one international trip. Beef tenderloin with demi-glace sauce. Veal escalope with lemon and capers. Truffle risotto. Seabass fillet. Crรจme brรปlรฉe. Thatโ€™s what Carney and his entourage ate on one trip to China, Qatar and Davos. The bill: $175,248 for airplane food. Thatโ€™s his most expensive airplane food trip yet. "Spend less" lol taxpayer.com/newsroom/beef-fโ€ฆ

โฌ‡๏ธ Called it back in December. Todayโ€™s heat pump announcement proves the Prime Minister is aligning public policy to personally benefit his financial interests. Trane Heat Pumps (heat pump manufacturer) and Enercare (financing and installing) are part of the Brookfield family. #cdnpoli
โ€œThis was a process that started in 2020, when the Prime Minister (Mark Carney) was appointed as the economic adviser to Justin Trudeau while still acting as chair of Brookfield Asset Management. Having Trudeau in power was a dream come true for the incestuous cabal of Liberal elites. While Trudeau was playing prime minister, the pieces being put into place to ensure that many if not all of the public financial instruments, green investment funds and policies the Prime Minister started pushing when he was pulling Trudeau's strings as his economic adviser aligned with Brookfield's strategy and success.ย  Critics will argue that they have set up a blind trust and an ethics screen, and that this is enough to ensure public confidence and trust, but Brookfield's interest from artificial intelligence, modular housing, carbon capture, nuclear and the transition MODEL OF PUBLIC RISK FOR PRIVATE RETURN he set up while advising Trudeau will make the Prime Minister millions, and he knows itโ€.----M.P. I am a senior living off of CPP and OAS and my savings. No other pension inome from private companies. Yet I do not qualify for this grocery benifit. Because I used RRSP'S to save for my retirement this is now considered income and pushes my earning above the limit for GST or grocery rebates. I fell into the RRSP trap of pay later. The misinformation surrounding RRSP's that your savings would be taxed at a lower rate in retirement was a lie! I now pay 30% withholding tax on every withdrawal from my RRSP. I have never paid a 30% tax rate during my whole working career! This means I need to withdraw an extra 30% to cover taxes, draining my savings at a much higher rate than was advertised or anticipated during my working years. When my wife passed my household income fell by her 700 for OAS and her 1200 for CPP. Because I make max cpp due to my contributions the spousal survivor benifit does not apply to me. A 1900 per month hit. No wonder so many pensioners end up losing their homes or forced to sell. Reverse mortgages sprung up to take advantage of seniors and steal the inheritance of our kids. The bank ends up with your home and you get some money to get by on. Your kids get screwed out of their inheritance. Nice plan! Sacrifice your kids future to survive today! So many people on X seem to think pensioners have it so easy. It can be if life goes exactly as planned. In my case I would never have thought I would outlive my wife of 43 yrs. After 5 covid shots she died after getting covid pneumonia?? Who would have thought. My savings are shrinking at an alarming rate and my future does not look nearly as nosey as planned. Even with wise investing (currently earn about 15% on my investments) all it takes is a major recession and my investments will crash. Not looking forward to the recession looming after Jan1, 2027 when Trump once again hits us with more tarrifs. Many boomers saw Carneys promise to get a deal as a protection of our investments and our future! You wonder why the senior vote came out for Carney? Too bad his promise of a quick deal and future economic growth was nothing but BS. Just wait to see what happens to Carneys senior support when Canadian economy crashes and our investments crash along with it. If I'm correct Carney will call an election before this happens and he looses the boomer support he achieved thru lies and empty promises. If he does, us boomers need to put this clown in his place. We need to hold him accountable for his empty promises before he destroys our retirement and our kids future? After 12 years of liberal rule the only real hope for my kids to become home owners is thru the inheritance they will receive from my death! Pitiful state this country is in.
I have never seen one of these deposits. That is not a glitch. Carney says the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit lands today for more than 12 million people, up to $1,890 for a family of four. It is the GST credit with a new label. Renamed in July, raised 25 percent for five years, still calculated off last year's tax return. A single person is phased out around $60,000 net. A family of four is gone around $73,600. Above that, the account does not ping. So the 12 million are the people who were already on the old credit. The rest of us paid the grocery bill, the fuel, and the tax that funds the cheque, and got a graphic. Real relief would be a price that moved. This is a rebate for the income test, mailed out under a name that sounds like it came for everyone. #cdnpoli

IN SPACE, TWO PIECES OF METAL CAN BECOME ONE โ€” WITHOUT HEAT OR WELDING What if two pieces of metal could suddenly become one simply by touching? It sounds impossible. On Earth, you can press two clean metal surfaces together all you want, and they will remain separate. But take those same surfaces into the right conditions in space, and something very strange can happen. The phenomenon is called cold welding. Here on Earth, metal surfaces are never truly clean. Almost immediately, they become covered with microscopic layers of oxygen, water vapor, oils and other contaminants. These invisible layers act like a barrier, keeping the atoms in one piece of metal from directly bonding with the atoms in another. But deep in a high vacuum, that protection can disappear. If two metal surfaces are extremely clean and brought close enough together, their atoms can come into direct contact. The electrons that normally hold atoms together inside the metal can begin interacting across the boundary. And then the boundary itself can effectively disappear. There is no melting. No flame. No welding machine. No enormous burst of heat. The two surfaces can simply bond together as though they were parts of the same piece of metal. That doesnโ€™t mean spacecraft automatically become giant fused lumps of metal. Real spacecraft are designed to prevent this. Surfaces may have protective coatings, oxide layers, lubricants or other treatments, and the type of metal, surface roughness, pressure and cleanliness all make a major difference. Still, the possibility is serious enough to matter in spacecraft engineering. A mechanism that works perfectly on Earth could behave very differently in the near-perfect vacuum of space if two unprotected metal surfaces make the wrong kind of contact. Space is usually thought of as an environment where things freeze, break apart or drift endlessly apart. But under the right conditions, space can make two pieces of metal do the exact opposite: become so closely bonded that they effectively become one. And perhaps the strangest part is that nothing needs to melt for a weld to happen. Source: NASA โ€” Cold Welding and Spacecraft Materials Engineering.

๐ŸŽฌ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ CANADIAN CINEMA CLASSICS ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐ŸŽฌ PORKYโ€™S (1981) Long before raunchy teen comedies became a Hollywood staple, one of the movies that helped define the genre came out of Canada. Directed by Bob Clark and produced by Don Carmody, PORKYโ€™S took us back to 1950s Florida and the misadventures of the boys from Angel Beach High โ€” Pee Wee, Billy, Tommy, Mickey, Tim and, of course, Meat. Then there were the characters you simply couldnโ€™t forget: the fearsome Miss Balbricker, Kim Cattrall as Miss Honeywell โ€” better known as โ€œLassieโ€ โ€” and Chuck Mitchell as Porky himself. The boysโ€™ disastrous trip to Porkyโ€™s roadside nightclub sets up their determination to get even with its obnoxious owner, resulting in one of the most memorable revenge plots in โ€™80s comedy. And then something remarkable happened: PORKYโ€™S became a phenomenon. The Canadian production exploded at the box office, becoming the most commercially successful Canadian feature film of its era and winning the Golden Reel Award as Canadaโ€™s highest-grossing film. Its success spawned PORKYโ€™S II: THE NEXT DAY (1983) and PORKYโ€™S REVENGE! (1985), while helping establish a formula that countless teenage comedies would imitate throughout the 1980s and beyond. Crude? Absolutely. Subtle? Not remotely. But more than four decades later, PORKYโ€™S remains one of the most recognizable Canadian movies ever made โ€” and an unforgettable piece of early-โ€™80s movie culture. ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ Did you see PORKYโ€™S back in the day โ€” at the theatre, on VHS, or when you probably werenโ€™t supposed to be watching it? ๐Ÿ˜„ #CanadianFilm #Porkys #Canadiana
