Note to Andy Burnham: Please stop talking about “free movement”. It’s not free movement. It’s open borders.

Hello, Too Late. You’re talking nonsense. The total volume of oil used depends on consumption, not production.

No , Rosebank will addoil to the market. Iyt won't be the same amount. We should concentrate our efforts on renewables.

Ben Smoke has it coming out of his backside.
Potentially good news. But we don’t need a “quasi-judicial process”. Just common sense.

Nonsense, Ben. The CO2 impact comes because oil is burned, not because it comes from the North Sea. The same amount will burn with or without Rosebank. The fuel consumption of my car remains the same, no matter where the oil comes from.
it’s estimated emissions from oil at rosebank will cause 57,000 deaths+£114 billion in damage so of course the bbc has written a light hearted human interest story with barely a mention of the catastrophic impact drilling there would have. utter disgrace. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cqy8…
Wait for the budget.

So explain why 2 polls out this morning both show Labour improving its position, 1 of them almost back to its GE figure, why do you think that's the case, Burnham on Goggle Box perhaps?
I thought that vacuous Andy was trying to end rough sleeping. But now he’s promoting it. Free tents for early release prisoners.

The government has assumed powers to enter your home without consent (to assess wealth tax & check EV mileages), & now wants to access your bank account too. You thought it was your money. They think the government owns it.

A new tax on petrol imports? Sounds like a great reason to approve Rosebank, so we can use our own oil.

Streeting says we need “to be ready for war in 1000 days”. Where will the money come from, Wes? And aren’t you telling Putin he’d better get the tanks rolling in 900 days, before we’re ready?

When vacuous Andy calls for an “honest discussion” on an EU issue, he’s usually rolling the lawn for the next surrender.

Indeed Bernie. Bodies lying all over the place here in Europe.
No, wait. The 32,000 is not an actual body count. It’s the result of modelling by Imperial College on the basis of several dubious assumptions.
People did die of heat this summer. They usually do when it gets v hot e.g 1976, 2003. The exact number is not clear.
But even if 32,000 was a real figure we know for sure many, many more will die of cold this winter. They always do.
A Labour figure on Any Questions says she’ll buy extra pasta to guard against food shortages. Of course the most likely emergency is power cuts (thank you Net Zero), which makes it kinda difficult to cook the pasta.
Don’t buy a heat pump. Get aircon. Cools you in summer. Works just like a heat pump (indeed it IS a heat pump, in a sense) in winter. I find it heats my large, open plan living room in fifteen minutes.
Some drum banging from the heat pump industry here and its leading salesman - Greg Jackson. Heat pump sales are actually down 20% this year. The doubling of demand Jackson cites is a doubling of enquiries not sales. Heat pumps don’t work as advertised and that message is getting through. They are simply uneconomic, never paying back their cost - even on the most optimistic bill saving assumptions and with a 50% grant - the payback period is 50 years. The pump will last 15. Solar is a totally different thing, far cheaper to install, works in all cases and the payback is 6 to 8 years - the panels will last 20. This report comes from estate agents.

A country cannot survive if it targets the leader of its bravest defenders.
We don’t know how lucky we are to have the SAS - because they don’t tell us how many lives they save or how dangerous the work they do.
The rot runs very deep.

CHAGOS SURRENDER UPDATE
The excellent @LordWeirDUP just moved his Bill to prevent the government from transferring sovereignty over the British Indian Ocean Territory without the consent of both Parliament and the diaspora Chagossian population.
Every speaker was against the handover except the luckless minister. The Labour and LibDem benches were, as usual, deserted. No one supports this dreadful deal.
The question is whether Labour will take the off ramp, or whether they will follow the FCDO plan to wait until a change of administration in Washington and then reheat the same old proposal.

Forty years of "climate agreements" have had no effect on the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere. The whole thing is a scam.
gml.noaa.gov/webdata/ccgg/tr…
Not the “climate crisis”, Dale. Just a drought. And if you cover acres of good farmland with Chinese solar panels (and create huge disincentives for farmers), what do you expect?
It’s been some time coming - climate crisis modelling long predicted the impact on farming - on food. It’s here now. This won't just affect veg - animal farming, for meat and dairy, is incredibly water intensive - it takes 1,000 litres of water to make 1 litre of cow's milk - or just 50 litres of water to make 1 of oat milk.
