A new injectable gel can rebuild worn-out spinal discs instead of just masking the pain. Doctors working with US company ReGelTec are testing an injectable gel called Hydrafil for people whose spinal discs have worn down with age. The discs are the cushions between your vertebrae, and as they dry out and flatten, they can cause years of back pain. Hydrafil is injected through a needle as a warm liquid, then firms up at body temperature into a water-rich, rubbery cushion that refills the damaged disc and restores its height. In a study of 60 patients, average back pain scores fell from 7.3 to 2.1 out of 10 after a year, and disability scores dropped sharply too. Today, most treatments for worn discs manage symptoms with painkillers, injections or physical therapy, and the last resort is surgery to fuse or replace the disc. A gel that rebuilds the cushion itself could offer something in between. The early study had no comparison group, and five patients needed a procedure to remove gel that had shifted. A larger trial against a placebo procedure is underway, and the FDA has granted it Breakthrough Device status to speed its review. source: Clerk-Lamalice, O., et al. Pain Physician. As reported in Injectable gel rehydrates collapsed spinal discs. Engineerine.

Not so fast. Section 10.1 of the Alberta Human Rights Act allows for preferential hiring based on race, etc. Bill 33 does not repeal Section 10.1. Instead, the Bill adds a bunch of weasily prohibitions and exceptions for provincial bodies. If they meant it, they could just repeal section 10.1. And they should have invoked the Notwithstanding Clause (section 33) of the Charter. They haven't, so provincial bodies in Alberta will still be subject to section 15(1) and (2) of the Charter, which allow (and sometimes may require) reverse discrimination.
‼️NUKES FIRED!! --- Alberta just tabled Bill 33 and it NUKES DEI and wokism across the public sector. The Justice Statutes Amendment Act, 2026 (No. 2) bans preferential hiring and promotion based on race, gender identity, sexual orientation, or other “personal characteristics” in government agencies, schools, universities, municipalities, and Crown entities. Banned outright: Ameliorative (DEI) hiring and promotion programs Mandatory training on DEI, unconscious bias, or cultural competency Any required training that dictates political, historical, or social opinions or pushes identity-based moral superiority and preferential treatment Merit is back. Ideological loyalty tests are out. This is the most BASED law of 2026!

In 1985 an astronaut noticed this physical behavior of a handle, that turned out to be the proof of a theorem: the tennis racket theorem (also dubbed the Dzhanibekov effect). Here's ESA astronaut Sophie Adenot showing how it works.

In the 1990s, a national broadcaster aired an investigation into a monkey virus hidden in the polio vaccine given to millions of children. A researcher estimated there were "at least 26 different monkey viruses" in those vaccines. When a cancer doctor found one of them inside children's brain tumors, his words were: "I almost fell out of my chair." 🧵

THIS MORNING! His ears cut off. Beaten. Shot in the back. Stabbed. This morning, cattle farmer Donovan Marx was viciously attacked on his farm between Potchefstroom and Ventersdorp in the North West. He was severely beaten. His ears were cut off. He was shot in the back/shoulder (doctors were still trying to remove the bullet) and stabbed in the leg with a sharp object. He’s fighting for his life in a Potchefstroom hospital. A family member left the farm shortly before 8am. Attackers then struck. A farm worker was tied up but managed to free himself and raise the alarm. The attackers fled in Marx’s truck. They’re still free. VF Plus says the full details of the torture are so disturbing they won’t even publish them. This is not “ordinary crime.” This is the same pattern of extreme brutality; ears severed, severe beatings, shootings, stabbings that has been targeting White farmers for years. English media is already silent. No front-page outrage. No presidential condemnation. If the roles were reversed, it would dominate news for weeks.

For those interested, I carefully explained the Chemical Mechanism of How Whiskey Kills Bacteria. Have a short read. Cheers 🥂 🙂
DID YOU KNOW?? Whiskey acts as a biological executioner on a microscopic level, killing millions of bacteria in ice cubes within seconds, and historically served as a vital disinfectant during surgery and civil wars before modern antiseptics were invented. At an atomic level, the ethanol (C2 H5 OH) in whiskey acts as a potent solvent against living microbes. When whiskey comes into contact with single-celled bacteria, the ethanol molecules immediately penetrate the protective lipid bilayer (the cell membrane). The alcohol forces the proteins inside the bacterium to unfold and clump together, a chemical process known as protein denaturation, effectively causing the cell membrane to rupture and dissolving the microorganism from the inside out in milliseconds. In a famous medical study conducted by Italian researchers analyzing ice machine safety, scientists tested various alcoholic beverages against ice contaminated with four types of resilient bacteria (including E. coli, Staphylococcus, and Pseudomonas). While soft drinks and tonic water allowed bacteria to thrive, 80-proof (40% ABV) whiskey killed virtually every single bacterial colony on contact due to its combination of high ethanol concentration, acidic pH (around 4.0), and natural wood congeners absorbed from oak barrels. Walk with me 👇🏾👇🏾 The Chemical Mechanism of How Whiskey Kills Bacteria: The microscopic destruction of bacterial cells by high-proof alcohol follows four distinct physical phases: 1. Membrane Penetration Phase 1: Lipid Dissolution: Ethanol molecules rapidly dissolve the fatty lipid outer shell of the bacterial cell wall, compromising its structural integrity. 2. Rapid Dehydration Phase 2: Osmotic Shock: The high concentration of alcohol creates an extreme osmotic gradient, drawing essential water molecules out of the cell instantly. 3. Internal Coagulation Phase 3: Protein Denaturation: Ethanol disrupts the hydrogen bonds holding bacterial enzymes and proteins together, causing them to unfold, coagulate, and freeze intracellular operations. 4. Total Lysis (Rupture) Phase 4: Cellular Lysis: With its membrane destroyed and internal proteins coagulated, the single-celled organism completely ruptures (lyses) and dies within seconds. More Surprising Facts About Whiskey and Microorganisms: A. Medieval "Water of Life": The word whiskey comes from the Gaelic uisge beatha, meaning "water of life." In the Middle Ages, when municipal water supplies were frequently contaminated with deadly cholera, dysentery, and typhoid bacteria, drinking distilled spirits or diluted alcohol was drastically safer than drinking untreated well water. B. Battlefield Anesthetic & Antiseptic: During the American Civil War, military surgeons used whiskey as both a crude oral painkiller and a topical antiseptic to wash out open gunshot wounds and surgical instruments when carbolic acid and medical ether were unavailable. C. Why Whiskey Doesn't Need Preservatives: Because of its high ABV (typically 40% to 60%+), bottle-aged whiskey is a hostile environment where no human pathogenic bacteria, mold spores, or viruses can multiply or survive, giving unopened bottles an indefinite shelf life. SUMMARILY! Whiskey kills millions of microorganisms through rapid protein denaturation and cell wall rupture, explaining why distilled spirits historically protected humans from waterborne diseases and served as crude battlefield antiseptics. Hopefully you've learnt something new today? The Medic Who Writes™🌚 Cheers 🥂 🙂

"ending their life"...'without informing them of what is about to happen' is called murder. Murder. Say it after me: M U R D E R Don't perpetuate evil by cloaking it in language that disguises the truth. Until Conservatives are willing to call this crime murder, and prosecute those who commit it as murderers, and treat victims as those who have been murdered, nothing will change.

Stanford just created a HUMAN-MOUSE CHIMERA whose cerebral cortex is 92% HUMAN BRAIN TISSUE. This is getting OUT OF CONTROL… Mad scientists are now growing living human brain tissue inside animals until it occupies nearly their ENTIRE CEREBRAL CORTEX. They genetically engineered mice to develop without most of their cerebral cortex, then filled the missing region with HUMAN BRAIN ORGANOIDS. The human brain tissue expanded nearly FIVEFOLD, eventually accounting for 92% of the animals' cortical tissue. The human neurons developed electrical activity, integrated into the mouse's nervous system, and extended nerve fibers all the way into its SPINAL CORD. Electrical activity in the HUMAN BRAIN TISSUE was associated with the mice's facial movements. The chimeric mice also demonstrated WORKING MEMORY, performing above chance on a memory test that mice lacking most of their cerebral cortex failed. This is straight out of a dystopian nightmare.

If Quebec does manage to separate... I'll consider moving there and voting for this guy. True story.
