What makes someone WANT your game before they’ve even played it? What happens when that desire outpaces what the game delivers? Today 3 PM ET, I’m hosting a free workshop live on Twitch exploring player desire, craftsmanship, and controversy. Bring your questions. 🟣 #gamedev

As an indie dev working on an online game in the EU right now, this is both nightmare fuel and some kind of twisted comedy at the same time.
All hands on deck! This is the biggest threat to Stop Killing Games yet! The EU #KidsAct could end #StopKillingGames by collapsing the EU gaming market and making private and community servers illegal!: youtu.be/mQRcK9nYg9g "The best thing you can do is spread the word...The people who write this crap do not like it when the public at large knows what they're trying to do to you" - @accursedfarms Don't just take our word for it, here's the EU Kids Act to see for yourself. Ross also has more links in the description of his video: eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-cont… eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-cont…

In the next #TinyRogues update, the bottom left corner UI also shows your active Companions. Outside of combat you can hover over them to see what stat boosts you are gaining.

if you have an "art team" you aren't a solo dev in my book but it doesn't really matter, it's lowkey a bit disgusting how we see this right to call yourself a "solo dev" as something desireable/aspiring solo dev-ing is at best a choice, at worst a curse not a blessing

Holy shit, found in the wild by @RubyBenji 🥹🤩 When working on Starvaders i said lets show gamers how bad they been treated with poor QoL and extra homework that doesnt benefit the play space. So hearing this out loud from other randoms is great Game Doctor diff.

Basically, the game is glued together on boot by human readable files that can be created and edited from outside the unity engine. So you can, in theory, add an item or enemy by literally just creating a txt file in the correct folder.

I've been hinting multiple times at my hype for Allumeria, turns out it's getting DMCA'd by Microsoft for no real reason. If some of you could spread the word to get the attention of Mojang staff toward resolving this, it'd be nice !

Yes, voxel-based games existed before Minecraft (2009). Early examples include Comanche (1992) with voxel terrain, Shadow Warrior (1997), Outcast (1999) using voxel engines, and Infiniminer (2009), which inspired Minecraft.

Most people see it as a Venn diagram of how people psychologically perceive prices, but the secret is to just print it out and throw a dart
