Richardson just like other Carribean freaks, brought his best vs Australians 3rd in list of most 100s against AUS till then Averaged more in AUS than Lara despite playing in more bowler friendly tracks Batted mostly at 3 too Massively underrated batsman
What a demon ! Probably the most underrated West Indian batsman. Doesn't get half the hype as a Carl Hooper for instance.

Every evening of that Kolkata Test in 2016, once the day’s play ended, Mohammed Shami did not head for team hotel. He went to a hospital and sat outside an ICU. His daughter Aaira was 14 months old. A high fever and an asthma attack had left her struggling to breathe and doctors had admitted her mid-Test. Shami told no one. A few hours later he was back at ground, tying his laces for warmup. Now he announced his retirement from Test cricket and that is the match I keep going back to. that match was India's 250th Test at home, on a fresh pitch that still held the monsoon damp. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took the first innings 5er and applause. Shami took 6 for 116 in 36.1 overs, 3 in each innings, sort of figures nobody frames. On the last afternoon the old ball began to talk and Shami made it sing. Boult's top edge to Murali Vijay at slip ended it. India won by 178 runs and climbed to No. 1. Kohli heard about the hospjtal afterwards. "I had no clue" he said. Shami's explanation was one sentence long: leaving a game unfinished felt like a sin. I understand that sentence better when I think of Sahaspur, a small town in Amroha,Uttar Pradesh. A boy with pace there had to leave home just to find a coach and a decent net. For him a Test was the job,the thing a whole family bent itself around. Turning up was the one thing nobody could take from him. Now the numbers, because they settle the argument. He finished with 229 Test wickets at strike rate just over 50 and very few fast bowlers reach 200 that close to a wicket every 8 overs. At home he was even more sharper, he was taking a wicket every 42.6 balls, best of any Indian pacer with minimum 75 wickets on pitches that belonged to Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. Those were demolishing batters at other end. Shami kept collecting wickets in same hours. he was never the loud one. Kohli said as much, that Shami does not express himself in the open on the field. He let the seam talk: upright wrist, ball landing on same spot, late movement into the pads. Batters rarely heard him. They heard the rattling sound of stumps. Test cricket has had bowlers who were quicker and a few who were prettier to watch. It has not had many who walked from floodlihhts of Eden Gardens to a hospital corridor and back and then bowled in morning as if nothing had happened. A fast bowler is a flame that burns itself for others and Shami kept his lit through the longest night of his life and every season after it. Happy Retirement Shami!

Neumhari has bowled brilliantly in this UAE road vs AFG 4/62 so far Has outbowled Muzarabani by a good margin so far Even in last few months,he have had more better spells than Muzarabani Good development for him Turning to be a great punt by ZIM to invest in him so early

In 85th over at Sylhet, a ball from Jayden Seales reared off a length and thudded into Towhid Hridoy's ribs. physio jogged out. West Indies had new ball and only a tail to clean up and they waited for the wince that ends these stories. Hridoy took guard and pulled the next one for a single. That exchange was the whole day. Bangladesh began it at 88 for 3 in reply to 356. Shadman Islam had been stretchered off with an ankle injury, so they were a wicket worse off than the scoreboard said. At 184 for 7 they trailed by 172. then Hridoy did something close to absurd. He added 117 with Taijul Islam and 85 with Taskin Ahmed, 202 runs with his last 2 real partners, who made 34 between them. Bangladesh were all out for 386, a lead of 30. Hridoy was left on 242* from 359 balls, 62.69% of his side’s total. He hit 11 sixes and 22 fours and scored 213 runs in the day, a Bangladesh record. Mushfiqur Rahim’s 219*, national best since 2018, went with a four off Warrican. He farmed the strike brilliantly for 6 hours, shepherding Taijul through nearly two and a half of them, and hit Chase and Warrican down the ground only when the field invited it. Some of that patience was learnt young. When he was 12, his family in Bogra mortgaged their farmland to pay a Dhaka academy that turned out to be a fraud. He nearly quit. money was gone. So, for a while, was the boy's wish to play. His mother kept nudging him back to nets and cricket began eating his schooling. He missed his JSC for Under17 duty and his SSC while touring New Zealand with Under19s. His runs came back before his land did. In 2019 he hit 3 hundreds in a row against Sri Lanka Under19( 1st player to do so in Youth ODIs). A year later he was vice-captain in South Africa when Bangladesh beat India in U19 World Cup final for their first ICC trophy. Match allowances and stipends, saved like a bride's gold, slowly bought the farmland back. Bangladesh have spent years asking who replaces their old guard. When Seales finally removed Taskin, the answer was standing at Sylhet with bruised ribs, an unbeaten 242 and nobody left to bat with.

This is the type of cricket pitch where to score runs you either have to be a genius like kohli or an absolute rtard like Pant , Brook #Goodpitch

Incentive for being a whiteball bowler in this era should be far more than incentive for being a whiteball batter The balancing stuff is good
Days like these that remind us how bowlers come into their own in white ball cricket when there is a bit of help in the pitch; and why it’s important to give fast bowlers like Gurnoor Brar as long a rope as possible to find out if they can be the player you’re looking for.

WI scored 320 odd in this devilish track & that too with Lara failure That was a jaw dropping batting effort for that track after Ambrose's 7-1 in 1st Innings restricting AUS to 119 AUS as usual collapsed for 178 in 2nd Innings WI won the decider in a brutal fashion
The fastest and bounciest pitch in world cricket. No helmet. No worries. @RichieRich2000 hooks two magnificent sixes at the WACA during the 5th Test in February 1993. Pure swagger 🤩🤩
