Outtake of the day:
David Cross translates Prof Michael Oppenheimer on whether we should act now, or later perhaps?

New and exclusive! 🚨👀🔥
Watch @davidcrosss and Prof Michael Oppenheimer discuss the climate crisis far too frankly - in the US launch of the "Climate Science Translated" hit series.
Contains an appropriate level of swearing.

We're not Russia. We're not China. So why do we punish peaceful protest so harshly?
6 out of 16 climate protesters see their sentences mildly reduced...
Fuelling the climate crisis, denying the climate crisis - both should be a crime - not peaceful protest to prevent it.

Such an important bill 👇👇
Current laws allow water companies to poison our rivers with raw sewage until 2050.
Please ask your MP to attend this vital debate on 28th March.
Rivers are nature’s lifeblood and we must protect them.

We now have a golden opportunity to pass the Climate and Nature Act. Will you join 54,000+ supporters and call on your MP to back the #CANBill?

It really is hard to get across quite how bad this is. We’re on track for 3C of warming, which could easily result in catastrophic cascading risks to human civilisation. And emissions are still rising. businessgreen.com/news/43727…

MPs are bombarded by fossil fuel disinformation. Please take a few moments to write to yours and ask them to listen to these scientists NOT the lobbyists. actionnetwork.org/letters/te…

Letter from leading scientists calling for the Gov to halt & re-assess carbon capture plans.
We know the previous Gov was captured by Big Oil. Labour now really needs to listen to these experts.

Just some of the 1,150 scientists calling for UK Gov to pass the 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 & 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹 to drive the science-led action needed to protect us from environmental collapse. Hard to see why any MP wouldn't support it.

.@GeorgeMonbiot's powerful appeal to Green, Labour and Lib Dem supporters to unite behind whichever progressive candidate is best-placed to defeat the Conservatives.
Let's push this corrupted Tory party into 3rd place, denying it the privileges of the official opposition.

🚨 BP's new chief exec is halting offshore wind projects to focus more heavily on fossil fuels.
Don't believe for a second that oil and gas companies are trying to be part of the solution.
They are driven only by reckless greed, and will put profits above all else.

ALT Screenshot of a Telegraph article titled "BP halts offshore wind projects." The drophead reads "Oil giant hits pause on new sites as investors question switch to renewables." The image shows three offshore wind turbines with a small tanker in the foreground and cliffs in the background. South Devon’s Conservative candidate is misleading voters *again* about the movement to end 100 years of Tory wins here.

Deeply misleading interview with Ithaca energy on @BBCRadio4 - the Rosebank development has *nothing* to do with energy security - nearly 80% of oil is likely to be exported, as with all our N Sea oil extraction - and *everything* to do with driving climate emissions 😠

WOW! Huge news from Supreme Court - an absolutely giant step forward to a fossil-free future. No longer can oil & gas projects get away with only counting a fraction of real emissions they're causing. Huge congrats to Sarah Finch, @WealdActionGr and @friends_earth #CountTheCarbon
OMG! 🎉WE WON! 🎉
WE WON, WE WON, WE WON, WE WON!

Hi @mrjamesob. I admire you enormously, but I think you got it wrong today on @JustStop_Oil
Very persuasive arguments that Stonehenge shouldn't've been targeted. But no information on why people are so worried, other than... 'climate change'.
Why 50 minutes on Stonehenge and virtually nothing on the civilisation-threatening impacts that scientists are learning more about every month? Impacts that very few people are aware of.
For example, why not talk about the #AMOC ocean current (includes the Gulf Stream)? Getting on for half of advanced climate models show it starting to collapse in the 2030's, causing the UK climate to rapidly cool to something like Labrador, Canada. Agriculture will fail. There'll be mass starvation. Large parts of UK will be locked in ice. We will become refugees (there's a pretty solid news hook).
Almost nobody knows about this, but it's high quality peer-reviewed science. Why not inform people, give us a chance?
#AMOC collapse is not yet certain, but it's becoming more so every day we keep our heads in the sand. I still have hope, but it depends on our best broadcasters like you picking this up🙏

We don’t want this climate future for Europe - in my view it’s a risk we should avoid at all cost, as I explain in this video: youtu.be/ZHNNW8c_FaA?si=q6zf…

The despair expressed by scientists this week isn't scaremongering - they are doing their job. Now it's up to the rest of us to decide what this moment requires of us and to radically change the direction of travel. My piece in @guardian

Dear @ChiefExecCCC. It's pretty clear that 'blue' hydrogen (made from nat gas) would be a disastrous blunder financially & environmentally. With a Gov-in-waiting looking for guidance, now would be the perfect time for a frank & unequivocal statement from @theCCCuk. #swansong
My article with @Kevinclimate on why the new UK #hydrogen strategy is scam designed to prop up North Sea gas, under the pretence of climate action.
It'll impose a huge cost on UK taxpayers and lock us into a high emissions pathway. Key points 🧵📣
