We found that one of the reasons why Apc is a potent tumour suppressor in the intestine is that once it’s lost in a stem cell, notum a wnt target gene will inhibit wnt signalling in neighbouring stem cells. This allows Apc mutant cells to “win”. More details in Dusty’s thread
How do mutants win the game of clones? 🏆🤷
In this week's @Nature, Dustin Flanagan @CRUK_BI + @owen_sansom, with the great @KatajistoLab and @SPECIFICANCER team, find out how APC mutations cause #cancer in the #gut ... with help from NOTUM

PhDs @BeumerJoep and @jeltevdvaart from the group of @HansClevers set up collaboration with to show that #SARSCoV2 may infect cells in the intestine. Just out in @ScienceMagazine!
New research in Science reveals that #SARSCoV2 can infect and replicate in cells that line the human intestine, helping to explain why some #COVID19 patients experience gastrointestinal symptoms. Learn more: fcld.ly/qh61e9b
