We value all our employees and believe in equality for all – whether they belong to a union or not. However, the BC Government @BCGovNews does not fund union and non-union worker positions equally! Does this sound fair? /4

Equal Pay results in better worker retention, which leads to secure worker-client relationships and more supportive environments. A stable workforce also keeps people safe from COVID and other harms. /3

We believe in equality for all workers – whether they belong to a union or not. Equal Pay values every worker who cares for vulnerable people. Many of our workers are BIPOC and/or women, who already experience inequities. \#EqualPayBC /2

On Thurs, the #bcgov will deliver wage increases to unionized social service employees. Shouldn’t the govt have an equitable approach that includes equal increases for non-union employees doing the same essential work? #equalpaybc Visit: equalpaybc.ca/

#Bcgov sets the pay for 32K social service workers, but now sets it lower for 17K who haven't joined a union. This is a change in government practice. For 25 yrs BC provided the same funding increases for union and non-union social service workers with @CSSEABC #equalpaybc
We will be speaking about #bcgov refusing to fund wage increases for non-unionized social service workers to match their unionized colleagues doing the same job and why it’s important for the #bcgov to act now! #equalpaybc Learn more: equalpaybc.ca/
@selinarobinson #DYK? Equal Work Equal Pay BC is being forced to file a complaint with the LRB because the #bcgov is refusing to provide wage increases to non-unionized workers, even though they provided that increase to unionized workers doing the same jobs. #equalpaybc

We support this urgent letter asking MPs to rethink #BillC7. "Canadians with disabilities are hearing MPs and Senators arguing that lives just like theirs featuring disabilities just like theirs are not livable. This is harmful and hurtful and stigmatizing." #cndpoli

The Parliamentary Secretary for Gender Equity mandate letter says they will, “Ensure our government’s commitment to gender equality is reflected in our budgets, policies and programs.” #DYK? 80% of social service workers are women. #equalpaybc 1/2
