One week to go until our Remembrance game against Blackpool, and we're turning the North Stand into a giant poppy display. Sat in the North Stand on Sunday 1st? Be in your seat early, find your flyer and hold it up when asked. Let's make it one to remember. #SWFC #LestWeForget

Rainbow Owls has issued a statement, following a transphobic incident on Instagram involving a trans member. 🏳️‍⚧️ In-game abuse: text the club’s Stadium Control Room in real time on 07526 166907. Online abuse: report to @kickitout at [email protected] #SWFC #WAWAW
RAINBOW OWLS STATEMENT - RE: TRANSPHOBIC INCIDENT Last month, one of our trans Rainbow Owls members experienced transphobic abuse on Instagram from a fellow Sheffield Wednesday supporter. At the member’s request, we reported the incident to Kick It Out on their behalf. The report was then forwarded to Sheffield Wednesday FC. Following an internal investigation, Sheffield Wednesday FC confirmed the individual's connection to the club and issued them with a club ban. The individual will not be able to return to football without first attending a one-to-one education session, delivered by Kick It Out through its Fan Education Programme. These sessions aim to help fans understand the impact of discriminatory behaviour in football.

RAINBOW OWLS STATEMENT - RE: TRANSPHOBIC INCIDENT We’ve seen a recent spike in homophobic and transphobic abuse towards Rainbow Owls and our members on social media, reflecting a wider problem in football. Reports of anti-LGBTQ+ abuse to Kick It Out, both online and at games, rose by a fifth in 2025/26, while football-related reports of transphobic abuse on social media doubled last season. Reporting discrimination takes strength, but it is vital in making football safer. Even when an individual report doesn’t lead to the outcome hoped for, it helps build a clearer picture of discriminatory behaviour in football and can help shape future action. We’re proud that Sheffield Wednesday FC continue to take a zero-tolerance stance towards homophobia and transphobia, as shown by their prompt, professional and robust response in this case.

Reports of misogynistic chanting received by Kick It Out rose sharply last season so we welcome clubs standing up to it. Our research shows that more than half of women have experienced sexism or misogyny at matches, and 85% of those women don’t report it because they don’t think it will taken seriously. If you see or hear sexism or misogyny you can report it to us at: kickitout.org/report

Kop Flag Update… Our sponsors got the first look today after contributing £1,800 towards the flag’s total £3,600 cost, with the Trust proudly funding the remainder. We’ve worked alongside @SWFCwsg, @ArmedForcesOwls, @LGBT_Owls and @sodaowls to make it happen. Tomorrow, thousands of Wednesdayites will see it on the Kop for the first time. It’s nostalgic, it’s unmistakably Wednesday and we’re immensely proud to be bringing it back. #SWFC

Good Morning 💙🤍💙🤍 As mentioned in last nights podcast we are extremely proud to be able to offer free sensory packs to any children visiting the game Vs Stockport. As the crowds at S6 grow so does the atmosphere and that may not be ideal for all supporters young or old. For everyone that requires additional support we hope these packs will give comfort to be able to watch The Owls. Please email [email protected] if you would like one of our bags. Apologies there are only a limited number. #SWFC #WAWAW #GameForAll

Chants targeting the victims of football's worst disasters and tragedies should be consigned to the past. Those chants can have a real impact on the survivors, their families and friends - which is why we'll continue to back efforts against them.

🔵⚪️ GOING TO THE FIRST GAME AT HILLSBOROUGH? Fancy being right in the thick of the action down pitch side before kick-off? We’re looking for volunteers to help with the deployment of the big flag ahead of the first home game - and we’re also putting together a group to help with future displays throughout the season. 🦉 You’ll need to already have a valid match ticket for the fixture, but if you fancy seeing the pre-match build-up from a very different perspective and playing your part in the display, we’d love to hear from you. 📧 [email protected] Come and be part of it. #SWFC

🚨 🔵 ⚪️ Sponsor a Square. 🦉 Be part of something special. We’re creating a MASSIVE new Kop flag, by supporters, for supporters, and local businesses have the opportunity to help make it happen. For a minimum sponsorship of £100, your business can sponsor part of the flag and play a role in bringing one of Hillsborough’s great traditions back to life. Our goal is to raise £3,000 to fund the project. Every sponsoring business will be recognised for helping make the project possible and will forever have played a part in creating something we hope becomes a fixture of Hillsborough’s matchday atmosphere for years to come. As a thank you, all sponsoring businesses will be invited to an exclusive unveiling before the flag is revealed publicly. Every sponsor will have the opportunity to see the finished flag for the first time and have an individual photograph taken with it before it makes its debut on the Kop. This is just the beginning. We’ll also be raising funds at Owls in the Yard with @TWWcast , with more opportunities for supporters to get involved to be announced soon. Supporters will also have the opportunity to contribute to the project through future fundraising initiatives. If your business would like to sponsor part of the flag, get in touch with us at: [email protected] Help us raise £3,000 to bring the flag to life. By supporters. For Sheffield Wednesday. #SWFC
