Hello people. I have defended my PhD work on sugar signalling and Pi deficiency. I have identified the novel role of TOR kinase in regulating Pi deficiency signalling. More updates on the paper soon. Entering the new decade of life with a PhD degree.

We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day. Here's a flashback of 2022 lab memories. #AR204 wishes you all a very Happy New Year !

A misleading paper in @ScienceMagazine just came out talking about how a single gene can increase rice yield by 41-68%. As a (wanna-be) plant breeder, I’m here to tell you why this study is misleading, and we can’t “solve” yield through single genes 🧵 science.org/doi/10.1126/scie…

Happy to share the 'social network' of Arabidopsis TORC1 published in @JXBot Using the available PPI and phosphoproteome data, we discuss the major nodal points of TORC1 action and highlight unexplored regions of the signaling network. academic.oup.com/jxb/advance… @AshveryaLaxmi

Finally a long waited manuscript is out. All Thanks to my brilliant supervisor @AshveryaLaxmi and a huge shoutout to wonderful seniors @Jamsheer_M_ Sunita Jindal Mohan Sharma @Manvi_sh0305 and team
Excited to share our @CellReports article describing a molecular bet-hedging strategy used by plants to moderate the TOR signaling and ''be prepared'' for environmental fluctuations. @AshveryaLaxmi cell.com/cell-reports/fullte… Thanks to all authors for their fantastic contributions!

Fully agree. It is almost a shame to be curious now. Is it not what makes us humans; trying to understand what we don’t know…?
Why is it difficult to understand that just like chess (an example for intense brain exercise) science can be inspiring even when it's not useful? The answer is usually "because our taxes fund it" but it's a weak answer and also art and sports are funded like that just not enough
