After continued investigation in collaboration with the Sacramento Fire Department, fire personnel issued administrative fines to three individuals involved in this incident, totaling $2.23 million, $430,000, and $10,000, respectively. In addition to these fines, two of the three suspects were arrested on charges related to illegal fireworks. This strong partnership between law enforcement and fire services underscores a comprehensive approach to public safety, tackling multiple issues from various angles.
We want to be clear - illegal fireworks are dangerous, costly, and will not be tolerated. We will continue working together to hold offenders accountable and protect our community.
@SacFirePIO
Last week, our North Problem Oriented Policing Team (NPOP) obtained information about an illegal fireworks show in a local neighborhood. Similar events have transpired in the past, causing significant damage and safety concerns. Our patrol officers, NPOP, and Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team (EOD) coordinated their efforts to apprehend the suspects with the illegal fireworks before the event started. Together, the teams were able to arrest two individuals who were in possession of approximately 450 pounds of illegal fireworks.
This successful operation highlights the power of teamwork between our community and law enforcement to keep everyone safe, especially during July 4th celebrations.

🎄Don’t Let Your Holiday Go Up in Flames!🔥
Did you know a dry Christmas tree can engulf an entire room in seconds? Stay safe this holiday season by following these 5 crucial tips:
1️⃣ Water Your Tree Daily: A well-hydrated tree is less likely to catch fire.
2️⃣ Check Lights for Damage: Replace frayed wires, broken bulbs, and worn-out cords.
3️⃣ Turn Off Lights Before Bed: Never leave lights on overnight or when you’re not home.
4️⃣ Keep Heat Sources Away: Place your tree at least 3 feet from heaters, candles, or fireplaces.
5️⃣ Dispose of Your Tree Early: A dried-out tree is a fire hazard—don’t keep it longer than necessary!
Fire safety starts with awareness. Thank you @SacFirePIO for the collaboration!

Sacramento hospital leaders and first responder agencies will kick off the first official day of summer with important tips for enjoying a safe and fun summer.
While local emergency health care providers are prepared to provide lifesaving treatment, we strive to prevent such emergencies whenever possible. Common summer activities such as swimming, hiking, biking, and camping can lead to a spike in many such avoidable cases, including burns, head trauma, drowning, heat stroke, and distracted driving accidents.
Thank you @HospCouncil, @SacFirePIO, @UCDavisHealth, @SutterHealth, @kpgreatersac, and @DignityHlthSac for the collaboration!

Among the reasons why I love firefighters… @SacFirePIO #Truck5 rescued a dozen ducklings that got stuck with their mama duck, in the 10-foot deep empty swimming pool at Southside Park. Without any water, they couldn’t get out on their own. And it was hot. 🌞😎
Firefighters carefully put them in a box, then released them to their anxiously waiting mama, before they happily waddled off toward the pond.🦆🐤🐤🐤🐤🐤🐤🐤🐤🐤🐤🐤🐤
Thank you so much, Capt. Justin Silvia & Truck 5, for your super quick response and compassion for saving these precious lil guys!
