Huge update is now live! This was a massive research effort over the last year+. Excited to get all of this new stuff out for everyone to try out!
Today, we are unveiling StormNet 4.5. This update includes a new interface, new radar features, and a new StormNet model capability. After several breakthroughs and tons of R+D, we are excited to announce that we have developed a SOTA short-range weather prediction model.

UPDATE: Since our last update, two more countries have reported disruptions to supermarket refrigeration systems, bringing the total to seven countries affected across Europe. 🇸🇪 Sweden and 🇧🇪 Belgium appear to be among the hardest-hit countries, with multiple supermarket chains and stores experiencing significant disruptions and food losses. 🇱🇺 Luxembourg has also reported incidents affecting Delhaize stores. 🇮🇪 Ireland has seen refrigeration disruptions at 13 SuperValu stores, forcing chilled and frozen products to be removed. 🇳🇱 The Netherlands has reported incidents at at least 17 businesses, primarily smaller retailers, butcher shops and food-storage facilities. 🇪🇪 Estonia reported a cyberattack targeting refrigeration controls, with freezer temperatures reportedly reaching +50°C. The incident was detected and addressed within approximately 10 minutes, preventing major damage. 🇫🇮 Finland has reported only minor, limited-scale temperature irregularities in some K Group stores. The situation there appears significantly less severe than in other affected countries.
The situation this morning in Europe: A cyberattack is disrupting supermarket refrigeration systems across several European countries, including Sweden, Belgium, Luxembourg, Estonia and Ireland. • What is happening: A vulnerability in specific refrigeration control software is allowing attackers to remotely manipulate freezer systems, causing temperatures to rise as high as +50°C. • Supermarkets are facing massive food losses, with fresh, chilled and frozen products being discarded due to food safety risks. Some stores have experienced temporary closures and delayed openings. The issue involves connected refrigeration systems whose software and security vulnerabilities are being exploited, allowing attackers to interfere with temperature controls remotely. Retailers are responding, working with cybersecurity specialists and taking affected products off sale to protect consumers.

The open misogyny re a female pilot clearly trying to save a bunch of souls makes me weep for our nation. We have got to do better. Today might be the first day I really understand the desire to encourage folks to “touch grass.”

I ask the following with the utmost sincerity: Is it too much to ask for us to be kind to each other for just one fucking day? Jimminy Mariah… ..,gosh.
I really wish that we could openly and reasonably discuss transportation accidents, incidents, and disasters without sharing video of people dying. This entire app deserves a “sensitive content warning” sometimes.

As your senator, I will protect your freedom of speech.
As your storm chaser, I’ll protect Oklahoma from dryline busts and the spread of the temp/dewpoint

This.
Big props to Sen Chris Murphy and his staff for swiftly releasing information about his health — hopefully the forthrightness and clarity will continue. Other politicians could definitely take a lesson from this.

Statement regarding US senator Chris Murphy‘s stroke. Murphy is a 53-year old Democrat from Connecticut, and is currently serving his third term.
Chris Murphy’s chief says the 53-year-old Democratic senator had a stroke. “Yesterday afternoon, Senator Murphy started experiencing numbness in his arm while at his son’s hockey game. He was taken to a local hospital, where it was discovered he had experienced a stroke. He was transferred to Johns Hopkins for further monitoring and is responding well to treatment. The doctors are encouraged by his progress, he is awake and alert, and we are optimistic he will make a full recovery.”

Extremely concerning: the San Juan River at Pagosa Springs is now forecast to rise to nearly 20 feet tomorrow morning. That would be the highest level ever recorded there, and by nearly two feet. Considerably higher than last week’s flood, also. #COwx

35 years ago this week, one of the most remarkable storms in meteorological history was unfolding over the North Atlantic. The October 1991 Halloween Nor’easter, better known as “The Perfect Storm,” was the result of a wild combination of weather systems coming together. A powerful area of low pressure developed off Nova Scotia while an unusually strong high-pressure system built over eastern Canada. The tightening pressure gradient produced damaging winds across the western Atlantic. At the same time, the storm absorbed Hurricane Grace, helping fuel its intensification. By October 30, the storm had deepened to approximately 972 mb, producing hurricane-force winds and enormous seas, with some waves reaching 40–80 feet. The 72-foot swordfishing vessel Andrea Gail, out of Gloucester, Massachusetts, was lost during the storm with all six crew members aboard. None of the men were ever found. Captain Billy Tyne, Robert Shatford, Dale Murphy, David Sullivan, Michael Moran, and Alfred Pierre never made it home. May they forever rest in peace. ⚓

This is the worst closing argument in the history of the midterm elections.
Trump: We can't take care of daycare. We're fighting wars. It's not possible for us to take care of daycare, Medicaid, Medicare, all these things.

Connecticut has a couple of bad ass senators, but I’m a little bit jealous of Texas right meow. Talarico loves Texas, and it shows.
TEXAN: “I’m a recovering Republican voting straight ticket for Dems for the first time.” @jamestalarico: “Thank you for your trust.”

Perhaps the most attractive thing he said is the below, which is exactly how I feel about Connecticut. I would never wanna turn Connecticut blue, because it’s never been blue; I just wanna recognize my state’s purpleness
