The EU never backed it. The @EU_Commission President did. This is good lesson for Canadians about the difference btw the EU, the Commission, the Member States & the Parliament. Canadians should have learned this from CETA. Carney should have learned this at the @bankofengland .

Frank McKenna has been a director of Brookfield since 2006 and has been the Chair of the Board of Directors for Brookfield Corporation (formerly Brookfield Asset Management) since August 2010. He endorsed Carney for Prime Minister, and he might have been instrumental in his interest to run as far back as 2012... but CBC only calls him "former Canadian ambassador to the United States"
CBC's ongoing selective disclosure exposes its biases @brodiefenlon
Rosie Barton does an interview with Frank McKenna. The second in the last month
Doesn't introduce him as a former Liberal politician or hardcore Liberal supporter. Doesn't mention he and Carney were both on the Brookfield board of directors
Doesn't lead with McKenna's endorsement of Mark Carney
McKenna is deputy Chair of TD Bank and they didn't even have him on to answer for the nearly $3.1 billion in fines and penalties and how they have been restricted in growth in the US
He is only introduced as "former ambassador"
Barton doesn't even mention he is a Liberal until 6 minutes and 30 seconds into the interview
McKenna "I like the current direction very much of our current prime minister, who is very much refocusing the party into the center of the spectrum "
But he is not refocusing the party on the center of the spectrum!
Why didn't Rosie ask about Brookfield?
These sham interviews are election interference. Read about Frank and Mark below

Cabinet’s claim to feed 400,000 children through its National School Food Program is false, according to figures submitted yesterday to MPs, @mindingottawa reports today.
Ottawa’s 5-year $1B school food commitment works out to $2.78 per child per school day for 400,000 kids. The cost is really $6.45 per kid due to inflation.
Five years would cost $2.32B.

This is false. Read his quote. CTV is making things up in an attempt to divide conservatives.
The ideological, unscientific tanker ban that is arbitrarily applied to one region of the country and not others, has always been opposed by conservatives.
B.C.’s incoming premier doesn’t support tanker ban reversal pitched by Poilievre ctvnews.ca/vancouver/article…
🤡🤡🤡 What a gong show.
MPs express incredulity that up to 200 employees at cabinet’s Major Projects Office are on half-salary from private corporations and never vetted by @EthicsCanada. “Is this just something out of the goodness of their heart?

10k Starship launches/year is just from Starbase Louisiana
In a comment to the FAA, SpaceX says it wants to launch 10,000 times per year.
The FAA asked for input on where to build new spaceports and how to give rocket launches priority in US airspace. They're preparing for 10,000 launches a year by 2035.
SpaceX replied that rockets aren't the bottleneck anymore, the FAA's outdated air traffic processes are. They created their own airspace tool (Cleared) that most major US airlines already get for free.
They also noted that Starbase Louisiana is designed for ~30 launches and reentries PER DAY (!!)

I have nothing against the Canadian singers.
However I see participation in Eurovision as an unsubtle ploy to support your dream to lock up 🇨🇦 in EU bureaucracy.
You have no mandate to join the EU and I will have nothing to do with it.

“Despite the government’s promises, the pipeline isn’t expected to reach a final investment decision until April 2028, with full construction not scheduled to begin until September 2028.”
The Liberals have announced their promised Pacific pipeline, but the head of their own Major Projects Office admits it still needs financing and a final investment decision.
Despite the government’s promises, the pipeline isn’t expected to reach a final investment decision until April 2028, with full construction not scheduled to begin until September 2028.
Canadians have heard enough announcements. They deserve answers about when this pipeline will actually be built, who will pay for it, and whether it will ever get Canadian energy to world markets.

Incorrect. There are dozens of faculty job postings in universities across the country to which white and Asian men are literally not allowed to apply.
As some of us predicted, with Option One in hand, Alberta is going to the back burner while Ottawa focuses on Quebec.
And the EU. 🤷♂️

Young Cdns can already study, work & travel. We already have tons of trade agreements with EU & individual countries. Improve our sovereignty by tying us more closely to a bunch of failing economies & failing societies? C'mon. This is Carney's vanity project for his own future.
In a couple days the Canada-EU Summit will be held in Montreal to move Canada towards an Associate Member...but there are some interesting things happening.
Quebec Premier Paul St-Pierre Plamondon was banned from speaking at the Summit.
France, Germany and other key EU countries are pushing back against Canada's joining the EU as Associate Member. These are our biggest allies.
Mark Carney promotes it as:
> Give young Canadians opportunities to study, work and travel.
> More opportunities for Canadian businesses.
> Canadian researchers will have more depth of opportunities.
And somehow being tied to the EU will make Canada " a more independent, more sovereign nation". How?!
The reality is that Canadian youth and businesses already have access to all these relationships and opportunities with the EU.
So what is this really about??
