I’m sad to learn that the animal for the Chinese New Year (2027) is the GOAT! I celebrate myself every day so I’ll have to randomly select a different one. TBD.

Had an interview with a company for a small parts inspector. They asked what made me feel like I’m a good candidate for the position. I told them I’ve been inspecting my small part my whole life. I didn’t get the job but they got a good laugh.

🇺🇸 A 28-year-old woman is fighting for her life after being stabbed in the neck while jogging along a waterfront path in Brooklyn, New York, yesterday evening.
The attack occurred around 8:15 p.m. near Bay Parkway and Cropsey Avenue in the Bath Beach neighborhood.
The woman had been heading to meet family members, who went looking for her when she failed to arrive.
A relative then discovered her lying unconscious and wounded near the bike path.
Emergency responders rushed her to NYU Langone Hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
Police have made no arrests, released no suspect description and have yet to establish a motive for the attack.
Another day, another attempt on the life of an innocent, defenseless person in the great 'melting pot.'

The US Department of Education just demanded Illinois stop screening kids as young as third grade on depression, anxiety, trauma, and suicidal thoughts without real parental consent.
Illinois is the first state requiring schools to offer these annual screenings starting in 2027-28. ISBE’s guidance relied on opt-out and made it optional to put results in the official record. That lets schools hide files from parents.
Prior written consent is required under federal law. Opt-out is not consent. Hiding records is not allowed. ISBE has until November 13 to fix it.
Demand written parental consent. Anything less fails federal law.
