One of the ways to save a lot of money in the current high interest rate environment. Buying brand new homes.
Art of Sticking to schedule
It’s been happening in South Korea. Everything is faster there, so watch them if you want to see what happens next here.
1,200 lawyers. Over $2B in revenue. Winding down.
In September I said legal hiring had basically stopped and partners were walking to rival firms. A month later Weil Gotshal is shutting. Some of those partners went straight to Sullivan & Cromwell.
600+ associates just hit a market that wasn't hiring to begin with.
Brutal.
Bad
🚨#BREAKING: Outrage is erupting in Georgia after an HOA began fining a young family $25 PER DAY for GROWING VEGETABLES in their own yard to FEED THEIR KIDS...
...the family is now being charged $750 because the HOA said the vegetables were "unsightly" and they refused to remove them
Yes, they planted peppers in their OWN FRONT YARD and their HOA is charging $25/day until it’s gone.
Their names are Alex Duarte and Shawn Richardson, and they live in Acworth, Georgia.
They grow peppers, tomatoes, habaneros, and herbs in trough gardens out front because in Alex's words,
“We don’t have a lot of money. The economy’s really tight right now.”
In June, the HOA’s community manager sent a notice telling them to remove the garden.
So Alex Duarte asked what she could do.
She offered to paint the beds ANY COLOR the board chose.
She offered a wood surround.
A brick surround.
A rock surround.
Anything to keep her garden.
At an appeal meeting she recorded, the board said it had gotten FOUR complaints of "unsightly yard".
So Alex asked them to define what was unsightly so they could reach a resolution.
The answer: it’s not aesthetically pleasing.
What about it?
“All of it. It's all got to go."
...then on September 28th, the fines started.
$25 a day.
By a week before Halloween, the balance was approaching $750.
So the family filed a complaint with the Secretary of State... but the meter keeps running.
They can’t even put a sign in their yard.
So they put up a Halloween tombstone for their garden instead.
Alex’s words: “I don’t wanna lose one of the ways I feed my family because three people decided that they didn’t like my yard.”
WHAT ARE WE DOING HERE?!!!!!!!!
Housing market crash doomers, take this and enjoy it.
Waiting for home prices to crash 50% like 2008?
Here’s why it’s not happening:
• 40% of US homes have NO mortgage
• 70% of mortgaged homes are under 5%
• 21% are under 3%
Sellers with a $2k/mo payment aren't taking lowball bids just to take on a $5k/mo replacement. They just delist.

House not getting showings? Check the listing first. A wrong property type, a map pin in the wrong town, or a typo in the price can hide your home from the buyers looking for it.

More hands in home ownership, you get less ownership. This is when Real estate slowly turning Fake estate.

this is what the state of california does on some assistance programs for low income borrowers. it claws back a portion of the equity when the borrower wants to sell or pay it off. many people get stuck in these homes to avoid losing their equity. the loan you are referring makes that amount due at a certain point. wow!
This smells very much like seller financing. Some large investors are offering this to get off the upcoming federal ban of owning more than 350 single-family homes while making money from the fees. I’d stay far away from offers like this as it doesn’t pass my smell test.
