The Conversion Practices Bill is one of the most dangerous, illiberal and invasive pieces of legislation ever to come before MPs. It will criminalise well-intentioned conversations between parents and gender-confused children, and between religious leaders and those seeking guidance on their faith’s teachings about sex, gender and marriage. Parents who try to dissuade their children β€” at any age β€” from embarking on dangerous, irreversible and life-changing medical pathways could face five years in prison. Unlike similar bills introduced in the past, this Bill contains no carve-outs to protect these vital conversations. It is not the role of the state or ministers to dictate what parents can or cannot say to their children around the dinner table. In a letter to the pre-legislative scrutiny committee, the Equalities Minister even had the audacity to claim that the Bill respects parental responsibility. It does not. The committee will hear evidence from witnesses for the first time tomorrow, and has now opened its call for evidence. The Free Speech Union is calling on the Prime Minister to drop this Bill. It is an assault on free speech and religious freedom. Watch FSU Campaigns Officer @MaxHThompson and sign our petition below πŸ‘‡

It's worth remembering that stealth taxes will still be at the heart of this Budget They represent the biggest tax rise in history Income tax thresholds have been frozen now since 2021 and are due to remain frozen until April 2031 The cumulative freezes of freezing thresholds and allowances is expected to raise ***Β£67billion*** by 2030/31 The higher rate - which was once the preserve of the rich - is now the norm for millions of people By 2030/31 5.2million people will have been brought into paying income tax, there will be 4.8million more higher rate taxpayers and 600,000 more additional rate taxpayers A ***quarter*** of taxpayers will be higher rate or additional rate taxpayers We've reached the stage where this huge tax raid is almost priced in every year, but it is far more significant than any other tax-raising measure on the scorecard Paul Johnson, a former head of the Institute for Fiscal Studies, said: "We are talking many, many billions of pounds of tax rises over the decade. People who would 20 years ago have never imagined they would be higher-rate taxpayers are now higher-rate taxpayers."

What do you mean - #fraud all the way as well as the lies to go with it? We are disgusted with you. The debt we're in, the wars you are pursuing on behalf of your own interests, completely ignoring us. You have turned Britain into an indebted laughing stock.

Labour and the Tories opened the floodgates to millions of migrants from across the world. Reform will achieve net negative migration, deport every illegal migrant and reverse this madness. End of.

EXC: Inside Andy Burnham’s strategy to reverse Brexit πŸ’« β€œHe thinks the right thing to do is go back to the European Union. Whether that’s doable or not is another question. But I think the prevailing wind is with us so let’s see how far we can push the envelope,” an ally said πŸ’«Burnham sees it as both an economic boon and a vote winner πŸ’«Burnham’s overtures to the EU have been described by European diplomats variously as β€œa love letter,” β€œcourageous,” a β€œbunch of flowers” and β€œdivorcees getting back together”. πŸ’«There is a sense of rewarding good behaviour from previously recalcitrant, sulky Brits. β€œWe are now very keen to make the summit a success,” one European diplomat said of the Nov 20 meeting. πŸ’« Concerns grow over EU plans to delay a decision on tuition fees beyond the summit: "they could zing us afterwards" πŸ’«Post-summit Burnham speech planned to set out next steps on Europe, designed to dovetail with the 10-year-plan πŸ’«Former Cabinet minister warns Burnham EU will only take the UK seriously about re-joining after a referendum, not if measures are only in Labour's manifesto πŸ’« Concerns the EU could apply a rejoining levy on the UK as payment for messing them about πŸ’«Cabinet dismay at re-opening debate πŸ’«BUT @robfordmancs says there is danger in being overly frightened of a debate on rejoining. πŸ’«β€œBrexit is like a pufferfish in a David Attenborough nature documentary. Β It puffs itself up to appear more frightening than it is. The Leave-supporting media the inflation mechanism: any mention of it and they freak out and shout betrayal. But Labour MPs and Cabinet ministers who take the pufferfish seriously are in danger of giving it more credibility than it deserves,” he said. Read the full piece here: inews.co.uk/news/politics/bu…

Labour simply aren’t serious about tackling the crisis of violence against women and girls. This week it seems they will get the hard-pressed British taxpayer to fork out Β£15m to fund projects to tackle the β€œmanosphere”. 3.2 million women experienced sexual assault, domestic abuse or stalking last year in England and Wales alone. Rapes are at a record high. Women across the country are fearing for their safety from illegal migrant men descending on their communities. Not a single woman and girl is going to feel safer with this total waste of public money. theguardian.com/society/2026…

The Courts and Tribunals Bill goes before peers in the House of Lords today, and the Prime Minister is expected to face a rebellion from Labour peers. Good. This Government, like Sir Keir Starmer’s, is pressing ahead with plans to curtail our right to a jury trial. It is a sinister, authoritarian assault on our criminal justice system and English liberty β€” particularly on free speech. FSU research has shown that people charged with speech offences are almost twice as likely to be found not guilty in a Crown Court with a jury than in a magistrates’ court without one. Put simply, more people could be banged up for exercising their right to free speech.
