Vote Sheldon Starrett for City Council on October 17, 2026 to end drug sites, freeze the taxes, stop wasteful spending, and protect our property rights!

I am running for Richmond City Council right now to shut down the drug sites and end the “harm reduction industry” grift once and for all. The ways of thieving frauds and racist criminal drug addicts like Cathy will no longer be enabled in our city. Our Richmond City Council politicians voted for drug sites at Alderbridge, Aster Place, and Brighouse Park, and on top of that, money has gone out to non-profits and contractors like Cathy, who pushes for even more of our taxes to be spent on more drug-related projects and salaries. Join me and vote for change with Sheldon Starrett and the Advance Richmond team by voting on October 17. Let’s make Richmond the first city in BC to reverse course and become free of drug sites, and we’ll cut off all city funding to the harm reduction activist industry. Video source: Thank you to @NeighboursofRmd for putting together this public safety announcement and invitingme to narrate. Many thanks to the brave business operators and building manager who recorded the video and endured this drug-fuelled racist vitriol for asking her not to do drugs on their property.

No @john_roston1 this is a problem created by your friend, Richmond City Councillor #CarolDay , when she voted for Alderbridge. And the entire #RITERichmond team to extend it in 2023, including Laura Gillanders. These city councillors must be voted out. #richmondbc #bcpoli #vanpoli
Replying to @SheldonStarrett
This is inaccurate. Willy was kicked out of Alderbridge House months ago and is unhoused. Richmond city councillors have asked the RCMP to arrest him and the RCMP contend that his behaviour does not meet the threshold for apprehension. This is an RCMP problem NOT the city's.

Source: Neighbours of Richmond instagram.com/neighboursofri… 'EXCLUSIVE: Convicted repeat criminal Dylan Dhiraj Raniga aka “One-Eyed Willy”, 41, is free on the streets of Richmond, BC. BC court records indicate that Willy has a extensive criminal history spanning more than 20 years. Despite this, witnesses continue to report seeing Willy committing alleged crimes around Richmond’s controversial Alderbridge Temporary Modular Housing (TMH) in downtown Richmond - a site firmly advocated by Richmond City Council that has been tied to numerous public safety incidents since its opening in 2019.' #vanpoli #bcpoli #BCElection #richmondbc

I am running for Richmond City Council right now to shut down these drug sites once and for all. Drug dealers and criminal addicts like Willy will no longer have a place in our city. It has been eight years since Richmond City Council voted for and then installed this Alderbridge Modular Housing drug site in Richmond. While our families have been sounding the alarm all these years, our politicians ignored us and doubled down by voting to extend the site even further. The Richmond city councillors who voted to support the Alderbridge drug site are: • Alexa Loo • Kash Heed • Carol Day • Laura Gillanders • Michael Wolfe • Andy Hobbs • Bill McNulty • Malcolm Brodie These politicians made their choice. Now it’s your turn. Join me and vote for change with Sheldon Starrett and my Advance Richmond team by voting early on October 7, 8, 9, or 10 at city hall, or on election day on October 17 at your designated voting location. Together, we’ll make Richmond the first city in BC to reverse course and become free of drug sites.

Richmond City Councillor Laura Gillanders wants to revise history on co-sponsoring a motion with Kash Heed to not only study but also implement a drug consumption site at Richmond General Hospital. We cannot afford to re-elect these politicians that support drug sites. #richmondbc #drugpolicy #drugcrimes #bcpoli #vanpoli
And this contributes to the "drug problem" how? There is no supervised consumption site and there will not be a supervised consumption site. The motion was in response to NDP failed decriminalization project with escalated public drug use happening.

Wow, just wow - these sociopaths joking about "shooting up" when their harmful 'progressive' drug policies have devastated communities across British Columbia. The #bcndp does not deserve to be re-elected, this is an astonishingly bad and tone-deaf take. #eby #bcpoli #vanpoli
HAPPENING NOW: NDP candidate in Surrey-Panorama, Jinny Sims, talks about her and David Eby "shooting up in a little while."

Responses to @gavindew's post are instructive: more strident outrage to a "privacy violation" than to the reality pictured. But sure, let's put more effort into suppressing depictions of real life street disorder. That should work, right? The whole point is that this isn't a rare one-off in our province anymore. Whole blocks of downtown Vancouver at any given moment feature clusters of people passed out of with pipes or needles in hand.
Realtime update from a friend: this what David Eby has given Kelowna.

Just a friendly reminder that the NDP will ask you to have "empathy" by not posting photos of people they've harmed through deadly policies. Instead of looking at the mess they've caused they'd rather clutch their pearls and act like you're the bad guy for exposing it. Gaslighting 101.

Gavin - don't do this. This is someone obviously sick & extremely vulnerable. Who knows what else she's been through. Fight for what you think is right, but take this down. We can debate the path forward and the tools to use, but this isn't it Do better here. This is a person.

My position is that gender dysphoria is a real, painful condition and that for some adults, the only way they may feel able to resolve that inner conflict is transition. If that’s the road they choose I wish them long life and happiness and I would vigorously oppose any discrimination against them when it comes to employment, housing or voting rights. I do not believe children have the capacity to consent to treatments that may leave them infertile and, in some cases, anorgasmic. Multiple studies have shown that gender dysphoria in childhood and adolescence is not uncommon, for gay kids particularly, but it also occurs in, for example, straight girls who hate the idea of becoming women and sometimes, tragically, in children who’ve been abused. The available evidence shows that in the majority of cases, gender dysphoria resolves after the person has gone through adolescence. I am strongly opposed to the experimental treatment of blocking puberty in dysphoric children. I believe trans activists have behaved hugely unethically and irresponsibly in pretending that there is good evidence that these treatments are beneficial (there isn’t), that puberty blockers are completely reversible (there is a mounting body of evidence to suggest they aren’t) or that children are likely to kill themselves if denied blockers (there is no evidence to support this and suicide prevention charities warn against making such statements, due to the very real danger of suicide contagion.) Of course, not all trans-identified people are dysphoric. Erotic transvestism, also known as autogynephilia, (getting a sexual thrill out of dressing as/pretending to be a woman) has been around for a very long time. I believe lesbians are entitled to exclude straight, cross-dressing men from their dating pools without being accused of bigotry and worse (same goes for gay men with trans-identified women). It’s profoundly homophobic to attack gay people for being same-sex attracted. I don’t believe anyone, adult or child, is ‘born in the wrong body.’ That is an unfalsifiable, quasi-religious belief. A person may *feel* as if they’re in the wrong body, but humans cannot literally change sex. However they identify, men don’t belong in the single-sex spaces for which women fought so hard.

Congratulations to @KerryLynneFindl, the next Premier of BC. She won as a principled Conservative fighting for property rights, low taxes, small government, free enterprise, and getting tough on crime. I want to thank all the candidates who put their names forward in this race. Let’s now work together to make Canada affordable, safe, and united here at home.
