Couldn't ger started without highlighting the 2 big runs that led to the comeback by Tyler Allgier.
FIrst 2 clips showcase a perfectly blocked climb by Seumalo that opens up the play side A-Gap for Allgier to burst through. On this inside zone call with a short motion into insert by the slot, watch the double team by Froholt and Seumalo move the nose into a better walled off position.
Right after that Isaac climbs to block the Mike, who moved in at the perfect time, to get sealed away from making a play.
Last line of defense the safety, gets juked and whiffs on the tackle allowing Allgier nothing but green field ahead. Great huslte by Fohoko and Vigel, this TD doesn't happen without their contributions.
On Sunday I called the 52 yard run a Pin and Pull concept, I was wrong, it's a horns concept which is a concept Petzing used as well.
It's simple under center run to the edge that allowed Allgier to follow his Guard and Center. After the motion by the TIght end, the defense shifted over a gap, which allowed the Olinemen not pulling, into better angles with the exception of the backside Guard (who had to reach block the Nose).
Last Froholt just bulldozed Caleb Downs, comepletely taking him out of the play, block in the back? maybe, who gives a shit it's about time we get a call.

Detroit was able to overcome the best defense in the NFL yesterday and the OC deserves credit
Drew Petzing was a much maligned figure in Arizona but he’s been so good so far in Detroit, with yesterday being his best moment.
It was impressive in the moment while watching on Sunday and even better on review today. Some of the TE usage offset in the backfield to mitigate pressure and account for run blitzes to spring Gibbs was really sharp.
There were a lot of players > plays moment for Detroit too but the second-half was extremely well designed in particular. Definitely deserves a lot of credit and the mind-meld between Petzing and Goff has worked out perfectly.
