I sat down with @JacobShap for another podcast where we talked about Ukraine's Operation Spider's Web and some of its implications. Always a pleasure.

It does a bit, I'm still not sure anyone's ready to stop them.
It's not as easy as Tom Lehrer might make it sound jn his treatise on similar challenges.

One year into Russia's Ukraine invasion we saw different phases to the war. Despite heavy fighting at Soledar and Bakhmut, the front didn't shift significantly through winter but estimated Russian personnel losses peaked during this phase. Mapped with @detresfa_ & @COUPSURE
I was invited on @TVPWorld_com yesterday to discuss Poland's recent acquisitions of South Korean military equipment, and South Korea's growing role as a global military industrial provider.

It certainly does, clouds block IR, which the sensor detects to pinpoint the heat.
From NASA FIRMS FAQ itself:
The past two weeks saw intense fighting as #Russia attempted multiple crossings of the Siverskyi Donets River, and #Ukraine expanded its buffer around Kharkiv. Russia continues offensive efforts despite heavy losses.
Mapping the #UkraineRussiaWar with @detresfa_ and @COUPSURE.
#Russia managed some progress over the past several days but given the cost of these limited gains and continued Ukrainian counterattacks elsewhere, Russia could struggle to sustain to sustain its offensive operations in Eastern #Ukraine.
Mapping with @detresfa_ and @COUPSURE
Today marks a full two months into the #RussiaUkraineWar, and the second month of fighting has been absolutely horrendous for Russia. The month started with the retreat from North Ukraine, and continued with a lack of major gains elsewhere.
Mapping with @detresfa_ and @COUPSURE
The offensive that #Russia is mounting in Eastern #Ukraine is at its essence an offensive to cross the Siverskyi Donets River, a major defensive geographic feature that Ukraine has used to shape its defense between Kharkiv and Severodonetsk.
Mapping with @detresfa_ and @COUPSURE
