MUST WATCH FOOTAGE: This is UCLA's Provost, Darnell Hunt, trying to negotiate with the UCLA Encampment Activists.
They effectively lecture him and when he tries to briefly clarify something, they get mad at him, so he decides to leave. The Encampment Occupiers laugh at this before yelling "Shame." Some Occupiers break off and follow him as leaves. They record him and call him a coward.

Our class action is on file. We are representing Columbia University students who have been displaced from campus because the school could not guarantee their safety.
We support peaceful protests but when a sliver of them invites and engages in violence including saying all "Zionist's" (read "Jews") should be killed and calls for terrorists attacks on American soil, that has no place in our country. It also detracts from important debates our nation should be having.
Columbia has long boasted a strong DEI program that prevents the targeting of vulnerable groups.
Our suit alleges it needs to enforce its policies and let students feel free to study, take finals and otherwise be students without worrying they will be assaulted.
We are proceeding on a breach of contract theory and are seek in immediate injunctive relief.

There is nothing wrong with being a Zionist. The tolerance for anti-Zionist rhetoric from supposedly thoughtful, educated, progressives is a moral scandal. Have a problem with what some Zionists say or what Israel does? Okay fine. But the blanket demonization of Zionism is something the left and much of the “respectable” center-left would never tolerate about “Communism” or “Communist” — an intellectual and political banner of actual, proven, genocide.

Dov has pandered to these anti-Zionist groups for years, & now they came for the program he runs.
He’s learned that no matter how much he disavows Israel, unless he is for Israel’s actual destruction, he will never be accepted by them. They just keep taking more lbs of flesh.

Israel had the world's sympathy after the slavery in Egypt but they've squandered that support after the 10 plagues and splitting the sea.

If you teach that “weak makes right”, then the perceived stronger party – in this case, Israel – is wrong.
Morals should be taught in the absolute, meaning that it is possible for either the strong or weak to be morally good, depending on their actions.

Palestinian @HowidyHamza on why the pro-terror kids on college campuses are hurting the Palestinian cause:
"It pains me to say this as a Palestinian from Gaza. As my home is destroyed and too many killed, I never thought I would find myself criticizing those speaking up...
You know what would help the Palestinians in Gaza? Condemning Hamas' atrocities. Instead, the protesters routinely chant their desire to "Globalize the Intifada."
Apparently they do not realize that the Intifadas were disastrous for both Palestinians and Israelis, just as October 7 has been devastating for the people of Gaza.
They should be speaking up for the innocent victims of Hamas—both Palestinian and Israeli. Instead, they endorse Hamas's ideology with posters announcing resistance "by any means necessary" and chants of "from the river to the sea"

I’m a scholar of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and a longtime advocate for peace and for Palestinian rights. I have publicly opposed Israel’s occupation of the West Bank, and its blockade and now destruction of Gaza. I support the rights of students and faculty to peacefully protest against Israel, including by establishing protest encampments, such as the one on my campus at UCLA. I do not want these protest camps to be removed by the police, whose propensity for unnecessary and excessive use of force is well-established.
As a Jew, I do not personally feel threatened or unsafe because of the protest encampment at UCLA. I know some of the students taking part and believe they are well-intentioned. Many, probably most, of the protesters are simply horrified by the mass killing and near-famine in Gaza and want it to end. So do I. But I cannot join this protest because it is not just a protest against the war in Gaza.
Among the demands of the protest organizers is the demand to “sever all UC-wide connections to Israeli universities, including study abroad programs, fellowships, seminars, and research collaborations, and UCLA’s Nazarian Center.” Needless to say, I oppose the demand to boycott the Nazarian Center, which I direct. The Center is devoted to the academic study of Israel and has no ties to the Israeli government. I also oppose boycotting Israeli academic institutions and academic boycotts in general.
But it isn’t only the demands of the protest organizers that I have a problem with. One of the organizations behind the protest, Students for Justice in Palestine, has expressed support for Hamas and has even celebrated the massacre of Israelis on October 7. Being in solidarity with Palestinians does not necessitate supporting Hamas. On the contrary, Hamas oppresses Palestinians and has no concern for the lives of Palestinian civilians in Gaza. They have openly stated that they are willing to sacrifice countless Palestinian lives—“martyrs”—for their cause, which is the ultimate eradication of Israel. They have spent billions building a vast underground network to protect themselves and their weaponry, but they haven’t built a single bomb shelter for Gazan civilians or sheltered them in their tunnels. They are prolonging the devastating war in Gaza, and the humanitarian crisis there, in order to maintain their power and authoritarian rule in Gaza.
I know that many people in the pro-Palestinian movement don’t support Hamas and don’t praise the October 7 massacre, but groups like SJP lead the movement on many college campuses, exploiting the sympathy that many students rightly feel for the suffering of Palestinians. Students and faculty demonstrating in support of Palestinians shouldn’t ignore the fact that the organizers of these demonstrations are, in many cases, ideologically committed to eradicating Israel and expelling Israeli Jews, supportive of violence against Israeli civilians, and willing to ignore or even justify Hamas’ strategy of sacrificing Palestinian civilians for their political ends.

This is a great time to be Jewish. All our enemies are totally out in the open revealing themselves. They can now be fought emphatically. No more can they insidiously and weaselly push their anti-Jewish agenda and claim it’s something else. They’ve all outed themselves thinking this is their moment. It is their moment. But it’s their moment to lose like all the other fucks who tried to bring it to us.

This is actually deeply sad.
That they weaponize their Jewishness against Jews is less worrying than the sheer gaping chasm of Jewish ignorance they display at every turn - ignorance of their history, ignorance of their religion, ignorance of which direction Hebrew is written.
I can handle and actually deeply respect Jews who oppose the Gaza war. No war should go unchallenged. But this ignorance feels like an actual betrayal, a dagger to the heart.
Like the children once stolen away to the czar’s armies, they know about their Jewishness only the shame inculcated into them by hateful ideologues.
And unlike in czarist times, it’s their own damn fault they never bothered to learn - right up until their Jewishness turned out to be useful for attacking Jews.
Everything about this is sad.

This is just not true…Israel did not have most of the world’s sympathy six months ago.
From the start, the way this attack was handled by most of the world, even before the Israeli military started to respond, was different than how 9/11 was handled and how other major terrorist attacks were handled.
Did Israel have the public support of the US government and some other Western powers, yes….but that’s not most of the world’s sympathy.
Even the Islamic Republic in Iran issued a statement of support and sympathy to the United States on 9/11! There were candle light vigils in Tehran.
For example, Putin took many days to even offer a tepid condemnation of the Hamas attacks and then welcomed Hamas leaders to meet in Russia!
I told @TIME that Israel had most of the world’s sympathy 6 months ago, but rather than turn that into broad backing for targeted military action & diplomacy with Arab partners on its side, Israel instead decimated Gaza with indiscriminate bombing & siege.
