how are you supposed to explain that the Deptartment of Education is posting nods to alt-right pedophilic gender-swapping fanfic without sounding like an insane person

I keep saying the American pragmatists are underrated. James literally did whippets and published on article on how high he got.

DSM-6 is a grift/mistake whose only real purpose is publishing profits for Am Psychiatric Assoc. Changing its name from 'Diagnostic & Statistical Manual' to 'Diagnostic & Scientific Manual' is putting lipstick on a pig. Giant leaps in neuroscience during past 50 yrs have had absolutely no impact on diagnosis.
At a time when many established scientific practices are being questioned, including vaccines and other longstanding evidence-based public health interventions, how does changing the name of the DSM help? 🔗👇

How the brain governs feelings, behaviours and bodily functions has long been a mystery. This year’s medicine laureates, Karl Deisseroth, Peter Hegemann and Georg Nagel, pioneered the field of optogenetics, which makes it possible to switch on, or off, the activity of individual nerve cells in a living brain. Using optogenetics, researchers have been able to reveal neural circuits governing specific memories, feelings and behaviours relevant for neurological and psychiatric disorders. In clinical medicine, researchers are using the method in attempts to restore sight in people with visual impairment. Listen to Peter Hegemann describe his feelings shortly after receiving the news about the prize: nobelprize.org/prizes/medici…

Rereading Girard’s I See Satan & am always stopped short at chapter on Modern Concern for Victims: “Victims most interesting to us are always those who allow us to condemn our neighbors.” I’ve never felt more seen.

I was invited to panel w/Zizek a few y ago. So I read 2 of his books & couldn't figure out what it was abt, so I declined. I now bitterly regret missing the occasion as I attended one of his lectures and althought I still understood nothing I found him playfull & mesmerizing.

The bodily resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth and His final defeat of death by death
I’ve asked this before but is there any historical event that is like the Opposite of 9/11. Like something so good that happened that it changed the world forever

Yes, if you like Nathan Fielder’s documentary style, then you’ll LOVE your personal psychoanalysis. Both will involve things getting socially weird, and at least one person making things awkward for everyone, but all for the greater good. Get a referral from an institute today!
This is 100% what we do in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, and that is part of what makes it so difficult. Study Fielder. Examples: 1) the scene where he first questions Billy. 2) The scene where he interjects to ask about the eggs. Even 3) the scene where he says, “no, you don’t.”

The Detroit Zoo opens its new Arctic Ring of Life Exhibit in Royal Oak, Michigan. The 4.2 acre, $14.9 million exhibit is the largest polar bear exhibit in the world and contains a 70-foot long viewing tunnel that runs beneath a 300,000 gallon chilled saltwater pool and other arctic wildlife such as seals, snowy owls, and arctic fox.
