Dear Central and State Governments, - Why are stray dogs still roaming inside school/college campuses, hospitals, railway stations, bus terminals, parks, tourist places, temples, airports, private or public institutional areas and other high-footfall areas, even several months after the Supreme Court's orders in Suo Motu Case No. 5/2025 and the AWBI SOPs issued in line with them? - Why are complaints not being forwarded by authorities to the police to register FIRs against so-called feeders who are openly feeding stray dogs in direct violation of Supreme Court orders? - It is the responsibility of campus nodal officers and authorities to ensure that no stray dogs reside in or enter these premises. How are feeders still gaining access to these campuses and their immediate vicinities? - The Supreme Court allowed authorities to expand this order to other public areas, yet this is neither being implemented nor examined anywhere- even as thousands of people are bitten by stray dogs every month in every city across the country. Do you think the central and state governments are above Supreme Court @PMOIndia @HMOIndia ?

Animals who survive experiments deserve proper aftercare & rehabilitation The final rules must spell out enforceable duties #WithdrawAnimalTestingRules Object now: c.org/5NHcksscG6 @Dept_of_AHD @Min_FAHD #StopAnimalTesting nitter.gq/Yours_Kartikey/status/…

Look at what the new 2026 Draft Rules quietly do: Erase Lifetime Rehabilitation: Since 2006, labs were legally forbidden from killing healthy animals after experiments and had to pay for their lifetime care. 2026 draft deletes this; making killing after experiments the default.

No More Surprise Inspections: Labs must now be given "prior intimation" before CCSEA inspection teams arrive; giving abusive facilities time to hide dying animals and clean up cages.

Pain relief must remain non-negotiable The final rules should preserve clear anaesthesia safeguards for painful procedures #WithdrawAnimalTestingRules Act now: short.do/parV4J @LalanSingh_1 @AwbiBallabhgarh #StopAnimalTesting nitter.gq/helpanimalindia/status…
The government wants to weaken the rules on animal experiments in India. You have until 5 November to object. CCSEA has published draft rules that would replace the protections lab animals have had since 1998. If they go through: Labs could source animals from open markets, and stray animals could be used under exemptions. Labs would approve most of their own experiments, including on dogs and primates. The duty to rehabilitate animals after experiments would go. The requirement to use anaesthesia would go, and painful procedures such as electric shock and prolonged isolation are listed as permissible. Many of these changes go against the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act itself. What you can do: send an objection to [email protected] before 5 November. I’ve drafted one you can copy, add your name and send. Scan the QR code for the draft. Go to this page for the draft - jo.my/objections Please share this. Every objection counts. #CCSEA #AnimalExperiments #LabAnimals #AnimalWelfare #PCAAct #AnimalRightsIndia #StopAnimalTesting

Important to oppose the Draft Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Control and Supervision of Experiment, Breeding and Trading of Laboratory Animals) Rules, 2026.

I have written to Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Thiru.@LalanSingh_1 urging him to review and withdraw the proposed Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Rules, 2026, in their current form. Diluting independent oversight, weakening safeguards and permitting broader exemptions for animal experimentation raise serious concerns. India must strengthen ethical research, protect animals and accelerate alternatives to animal testing. Science must advance with compassion, accountability and transparency. @mkstalin @Udhaystalin @arivalayam @dmk_youthwing @DMKITwing @dmksdwing @DMK_Chennai

#AnimalTesting #PETA #MyTake #AajKiBaat
India must not weaken safeguards while science advances Strong oversight & humane alternatives should set the standard for research. #WithdrawAnimalTestingRules Act now: short.do/parV4J @AFR_UK @SigneSol0 #StopAnimalTesting nitter.gq/RajatSharmaLive/status…
I would appeal to all to oppose the Draft Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Control and Supervision of Experiment, Breeding and Trading of Laboratory Animals) Rules, 2026. The draft rules, circulated by the Centre, will allow capture and use of wild animals—including endangered or protected Show More species under vague "scientific justification”. The draft rules also permit experiments on community and free-ranging stray dogs and cats. The rules also accommodate extreme procedures, like electric shocks, prolonged isolation of animals like dogs and monkeys and induced tumors Animal lovers have opposed this. PETA India has demanded withdrawal of these draft rules. One thing is clear. Change in animal lab testing rules will encourage cruelty to animals. If ethics panel gets the powers for granting approval to such lab experiments, nobody can stop it. During lab tests, animals undergo insufferable pain, but they cannot express it like humans. Rabbits, rats, monkeys and dogs are kept in small cages in labs, they are given needle pricks regularly. Since they are animals, no consent can be taken. The ideal condition is: use of animals in lab trials must be kept to the bare minimum and care must be taken that the animals do not suffer pain. As far as possible, non-animal testing should replace animal testing, but the new draft rules will put the clock back. In many countries animal testing is difficult and costly, and India may be used as the place at cheap costs. This is dangerous. We should register our objections over these new draft rules. Since November 5 is the deadline, I would appeal to all to scan the relevant QR code to register your objections.
