Pre-game protest at Selhurst Park vs Liverpool on 08/11/2026
Crystal Palace fans will be protesting outside the Main Stand on 08/11/2026 against the current club strategy, which prioritises tourists instead of regular match-going fans.
Please note that the protest is not about results; it’s not about the football. But it is about the way the club has treated its own fans in the last few years.
The fans are the backbone of this football club. We do not accept the current direction that the club is taking us, selling our soul in the process.
-Protest outside the Main Stand at 13:00
-We will not be taking our seats until 14:05 to show the club what the stadium would be like without the fans.
We’re worried about the future of the football club, we want what’s best for Crystal Palace. But right now, there is a massive disconnect between the club and fans.
Please read the following pages for the reasons that Crystal Palace fans are protesting.
THE FANS ARE THE CLUB

Tickets:
Prices for a single match ticket can be up to £70. These prices are aimed at tourists who are happy to pay for a membership and match ticket to see a one-off Premier League game. These prices are unaffordable for local fans, particularly young South Londoners. As a result, despite being in our most successful period, our fanbase is not growing, as shown by our Europa League attendances. Crystal Palace officials are sacrificing a long-term strategy for short-term gains.
We have also found that since the digitalisation of tickets, the club has been squeezing as much money out of fans as possible. It costs an extra £50 on top of the cost of a Season Ticket for the privilege of sharing your ticket with your mate or a family member.
Matchday Experience:
The club has changed the experience at the stadium from being a gritty South London club to a sanitised, Americanised experience.
We now have loud, generic pop music played all the way through until the kick-off of the game. We have club-funded flag bearers. We have club-funded pyrotechnics. We have club staff walking up and down the stairwells selling pom-poms. We even had the club try and force a new ‘club anthem’ on us.
This is not Crystal Palace. We are a fanbase who have historically created our own atmosphere. The club has lost sight of what made us special in the English game, of what our unique selling point was, and the club has destroyed it.
Restrictions:
The club has deliberately made it difficult for fans to show their support.
The fans have previously asked for the music to be turned off prior to key games for the fans to show their support. The club denied these requests, citing ‘regulations’, we now know this to be a lie by the club. The club has also drowned out supporters with music after key wins. At the Shakhtar Donetsk game, the players were left visibly bemused by this decision.
The club has unnecessarily restricted banners and displays that have been funded and produced by the Crystal Palace fanbase.
Rail Seating:
In 2018, the club asked fans to sign a petition to legalise safe standing in England. We obliged. Safe standing has since been legalised and, eight years on, there is no sign of any being implemented in the home areas of our stadium. It has meant that the ground has become stagnant, as we have not been able to grow a sustainable singing section.

Guehi looks a shadow of himself recently. He’s such a principled person, I wonder if playing for a club who is morally bankrupt is playing on his mind? #AVLMCI #115

If you have only one senior centre back (who is struggling for form too) you don’t play a back 3. It’s not rocket science. There are other formations out there #cpfc

Also on Sean's YouTube channel is 'Sean's Shorts', a @BBC series of 6 ten minute travelogue-style episodes set across the UK (and the Isle of Man), which are a real slice of early 90s history with lots of cameos and interesting characters to enjoy.

9 years today, since Sean left us.
If you miss him, too, there will be things posted in the thread below (throughout the day and weekend) to watch, listen to and connect with him again.
To quote a lyric from one of his favourite songs: "There's always something left behind"
