終電

A few days ago I briefly mentioned that I got fired. I thought I’d add a little more context. It’s funny how the office keeps finding its way not only into my work, but into my life. I was told to resign voluntarily — otherwise I would be fired for disciplinary reasons and given bad references that could make finding another job difficult. I’m not going to fight it. I gave six years of my life to this job, so of course it’s a shitty way for that story to end. But someone replied to me: “So what? Onwards and upwards.” And yeah. So what? I’m an artist, and my art isn’t going anywhere. I actually started making NFTs around the same time I started this job. For years, I spent 8 hours a day at the office, then came home and spent another 8 hours working on my art and NFTs. There’s something almost comical about getting these messages from my boss at the exact same time my interview with @opensea is coming out. No regrets. I’ll just keep making art. And of course, none of this has much to do with art.
