Here’s a story for you. We started filming without owning the title and had to do alternates.
Taft Broadcasting owned the title Ghostbusters as part of their half-hour sitcom starring Larry Storch and Forrest Tucker (F-Troop) and a gorilla chasing ghosts. I had never heard of it. They didn’t have proton packs or Bill Murray. Columbia paid $500,000 to buy the name, but they really should have paid Dean Martin, from whom I first heard the term.
In the film Scared Stiff (1953), he and Jerry Lewis (check out his acrobatic stair descent) are in an old haunted castle, and Lizabeth Scott asks Dean: “Who are you guys?” And Dean answers: “You’ve heard of Trustbusters and Gangbusters, we’re Ghostbusters!”
For my research writing the first movie, I watched every single ‘ghost’ comedy ever made. Bowery Boys, Hope and Crosby, Abbot and Costello, Martin and Lewis all did such films.
Happy Halloween 2026.
In 1986, Gene Roddenberry said Patrick Stewart's name should "never, ever be mentioned in my presence again."
Five years later, Stewart sang and danced on the bridge of the Enterprise as a birthday surprise for him.
It was never meant to be seen. A copy survived and ended up as a DVD bonus.
RIP Sir Patrick.
-#NowPlaying I really slept on the soundtrack! Real Steel. You wouldn’t know it was Danny Elfman unless you knew it was Danny Elfman. At times it’s almost Goldsmithian (that’s a word!)

The Plumber from hell meant that I was unable to get to my stereo for several weeks. But I’m back baby and giving this a first spin. #NowPlaying Humanoids From The Deep by James Horner.
Today I remember the late, great, James Horner. Spin a tune in his honour. This is the track I played when I first leaned the news.
Just received this; my first collectors Steel Book 4k for one of my favourite movies. Cant wait to give it a spin! #GoSpeedRacerGo
