I'm skeptical that we should have any minimum wage. On one hand, I understand the premise: to protect against unfairly low wages. On the other, I feel like it's an excuse for many employers to default to the minimum that wouldn't otherwise.

Well I have one theory…
Why does seeing KKK members being shot upset certain people so much?

It depends on your definition of art. Some see art as the mere product. Personally? I think that art as the artist's communication "encoded" in the product. That makes something made by a human more special than something largely automated.
the double standards are actually insane

Great analogy to illustrate a point that I often make on the abortion debate. It has never been "my body my choice" as you're both legally and morally compelled already to provide for your infant. The abortion debate can ONLY be about the personhood of the fetus.
Imagine a mother giving birth in a small, isolated, and impoverished town. Six months later, she decides that she no longer wishes to use her body to breastfeed the baby anymore. Nobody in the town is willing to adopt the child, and there are no alternative means to feed the baby. Can the mother invoke bodily autonomy and deny the baby breast milk until the baby dies? If yes, then it seems like bodily autonomy can justify infanticide. If no, then why is bodily autonomy a defense to abortion but not for some cases of infanticide?

Broads will moralize for weeks about consent and no meaning no, and then get angry that a guy didn't catch the vibes about her no meaning yes
Why don’t men understand that sometimes a girl says stop because she wants you to take the lead? We were making out on the bed, MUMU tried reaching for my pants, and I told him to stop. I wasn’t even struggling with him. This CLOWN actually stopped and ruined my whole mood. DOG , YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO READ THE ROOM.

The same result can be achieved with humanitarian aid. You know this, of course, but it's not about merely helping them, it's about them being here, specifically.
The net-benefit that our nation receives from Somali immigration is the knowledge that 200,000 people have been saved from famine and needless suffering. If you cannot understand why this is important, you’re missing an important source of meaning in life and deserve some pity

Do the benefits of a free market apply to healthcare? I'm pro free market on most things, but I struggle to see how emergency services can have benefit the consumer through competition. Can a dying or unconscious person shop around, or negotiate price?

I want to be clear that I'm not necessarily prescribing socialized healthcare as the best answer to this dilemma. That comes with its own issues. I want to gather thoughts on the topic

What can humanity hope for, but to be a little less weak and retarded tomorrow?
i am but a sinful retard

You will die one day; that's inevitable. All you can hope is that you'll be strong enough in character for the day after.

It's probably because some homeless dude whose secret lair is a refrigerator box on the sidewalk and whose only gadget is a frisbee with razor blades taped to it wouldn't make that compelling of a villain, but go ahead with your diatribe or whatever
There's a reason every villain in a Bond movie is a megalomaniac billionaire. They're the peak of human selfishness & rotten to the core. Stop idolizing them.

Yes, which is why being from a different culture can never be an excuse
Hey, so rape is actually always 100% the rapists fault. There is no level of shared responsibility. This is true. Always. Thank you for coming to my talk.

Conflating labor with sex is dishonest. If somebody is raped, it's fundamentally different in severity from coerced or compelled labor.
I have to agree with her

Power monopolies don't just exist on the institutional level, they happen along various strata all throughout society, even on the individual level. Using one structure's power to judge the directionality of racism is incoherent.
black people cannot be racist they CAN be racially prejudiced and act as such but racism is systemic, and the system works at the hands of white people in this country. so no, they cannot be racist.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Dictionary definitions of racism include racial prejudice, discrimination or beliefs in racial superiority by individuals of any race, in addition to systemic forms. merriam-webster.com/dictionary/rac… dictionary.com/browse/racism en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racism

Any amount of illegal alien households existing in the US is a problem. A lot of people try to move the goalpost to whether they commit additional crimes or fraud, etc. but the mere fact of them being here illegally is reason enough to deport.
61% of illegal alien households use at least one major welfare program.

America is often ridiculed for its obesity rates and poor lifestyle choices. Let me ask you this: is it ethical for a country so riddled with lifestyle-related health issues to offload care costs onto everyone, including those who take care of their body? I say no.
Why are people so afraid of Medicare for All? Give me one reason that every American should not all have the greatest healthcare in the world??? (answer like cost and waiting lines are bullshit- btw).

"If you made money linearly rather than exponentially, it would take you a long time to get a lot of money, so that's how come having a lot of money shouldn't be allowed"
I don’t think people fully understand how much 1 billion is. If your salary was $100k with no tax, it would take you 10 years to become a millionaire, but 10,000 years to reach a billion. It is unethical for one person to be hoarding this much wealth while others cannot eat.
