The police are "stronger" than a lone person, but the lone person can finish victimizing you before the police even show up. "Right here, right now" is one of the largest considerations in interpersonal power dynamics.

Can't speak for everyone, but personally I think in that case it would be a worthwhile pursuit to seek to fix the underlying biological issue. Then trans people need not suffer and the ethical concerns (eg. bathrooms, sports) need not even be a problem.

As opposed to the glorious utilitarianism, where you could stone someone if it produces more pleasure for the people throwing stones than it did suffering for the person being stoned

It's baked into the reply that you "understood" lmao. I'm going to leave it on the table until you pick it up, alright? You've gotta prove you're not a waste of time to talk to further

I pray that the right wing position will stop being diluted by the most milquetoast, "illegal immigration is okay as long as my retirement fund goes up" boomer takes. I want leftists to feel idiotic for calling the current right fascist.

It would be less barbaric to give petty criminals a public lashing or beating than to lock them away for several months. And I think that it would do a better job of rehabilitation too. Public social shame is a powerful tool when judiciously applied.

I'd recommend it. From an outside perspective: flag bios have made such a bad name for themselves that most people, for better or for worse, do make assumptions when they see it.

It wouldn't be such an issue if the institutions that host these events often do nothing to penalize students who make these kinds of threats. They have a home field advantage

And also why wouldn't they de-verify Trump if this is the road they go down? He said he wants a total ban on Muslims, called Mexicans rapists, said we have to "take out the families" of terrorists, torture people. I don't see how you can keep him verified.

You're so far from getting it. Which is gnarly because I set the point down right on the table in plain view. There's basically a spotlight on it.

Men can also have their nudes leaked and careers ruined. And rape allegations require only someone to will them into existence. Let me try: You raped me in 2014 in the parking lot of a Long John Silvers. How much credibility does that have without substance?

I'm skeptical that we should have any minimum wage. On one hand, I understand the premise: to protect against unfairly low wages. On the other, I feel like it's an excuse for many employers to default to the minimum that wouldn't otherwise.
