Finally watched "The Godfather" and "The Godfather Part II," and I can see why these films are considered classics. 👀 I liked both, but I think I enjoyed Part II a little more. 🤔 What stood out to me is that, despite being part of the same story, the films have very different strengths. The first film has a more intimate, family-oriented atmosphere. I really liked its portrayal of family hierarchy, loyalty, and Michael's gradual transformation. Part II, however, feels much colder and more melancholic? Michael has the power, the money, and the influence, but none of it seems to bring him any closer to happiness. Instead, he becomes increasingly isolated, and his obsession with protecting his empire comes at the expense of the very family he's supposedly doing it all for. That's what I appreciate about the second film. It's not simply about a man gaining power; it's about watching that power consume him. 🤔 It's kind of tragic seeing Michael become more successful in business while becoming less successful as a husband and father. He gains almost everything he wants while gradually losing his ability to maintain meaningful human connections. I find that quite compelling, which is why Part II is probably my favorite. Anyway, thanks, @amemochi0827, for always talking about The Godfather! It finally motivated me to give these movies a try! 🤣 This turned into a long post, sorry about that. I hope it can translate well into Japanese. (lol) I heard "The Godfather Part III" gets mixed reviews, but I'll probably give it a try later. 🤔
