Please do not try to find out who the Jonestown Death t-shirt guy is. Please just enjoy the clip and let him live. Please do not make him your resistance hero + then devour him alive once it’s revealed that he once called someone a “queerducken” in the Lambgoat comments in 2013.

I don’t think I’m overstating it when I say this is how we get our country back. You start chipping away at the seemingly invincibility of tech barons and eventually you get to a place where they are subjects of democracy, not controllers of it.

it’s funny reading the Wikipedia pages of actors from the 90’s and 2000’s
it’s like “Steve Buscemi was a firefighter then traveled with the circus, waited tables, did a bunch of odd jobs and got discovered on the side of the road”
meanwhile every actor today is just like “child of [famous actor]”
Before Hollywood, I was living in a van in Hawaii and waiting tables at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company. One day, the incredible Rae Dawn Chong walked into the restaurant, and naturally, I went up to her table and said, “Hey, you’re a movie star! What are you doing here?”
She asked if I could act, and I said, “Fuck yeah, put me in your movie!”
She asked for my phone number. The only problem was I didn’t have one. So I gave her my buddy Mike’s number instead. A couple days later, Mike casually mentions, “Oh, by the way, someone called you.” ARE YOU KIDDING ME, MIKE?!
I called her back, and sure enough, she was serious. I drove over to pick up the script, went back to Mike’s house, and read all 120 pages three times in a row. First script I’d ever read. My character's name was Devon, and I remember thinking, “Sweet! I could totally play a Devon!”
I showed up to the audition with every line and inflection mapped out in pencil. Rae told me I could act and offered me the part. I asked if we were shooting in Hawaii. Nope. Los Angeles.
I had about $60 to my name, a bag of clothes, and some rollerblades.
Then Rae told me they'd fly me out. And I remember thinking right then and there, my life just changed forever. I'm going to be an actor.
That little movie was Cursed Part 3, a low-budget horror comedy that opened the door to Hollywood for me.
I'll forever be grateful to Rae for taking a chance on a kid working at a shrimp restaurant. Everybody starts somewhere, and this is where it all began for me.

Sitting in office hours having talked to another student, have to say despite much discourse about the myriad failings of higher ed, there are plenty of students who are incredibly passionate and diligent and committed to learning and we owe it to them not to succumb to cynicism.

Emergency baseball like this is one of my favorite things in sports. These guys spend 6 months with highly regimented routines. Then for a week it gets thrown out and they're 14 again, willing to throw until their arm falls off in order to get a ring.

A publisher asked me how I plan to market my book. This probably isn't the best time to mention my plan was to "get a publisher."

Every late-cycle story is one of two things, it’s either "Democrats used a tactic Republicans also use, but aren't they supposed to be better?" or “Republican elected is taking more money than you will ever see in your life for insider-access scheme, but they won’t stop just cause we caught them, so moving on!”

By that metric, the last legitimate championship.

Obama 🔥: "The president wasn't even mad about the Saddam Hussein comparison! That part didn't bother him. But he was very upset about the Cheesecake Factory comments. He took great umbrage. The mobilized a whole of government response to that joke! They told the Treasury Secretary to hold a press conference in front of the Cheesecake Factory. This really happened."
