No. Wait. I forgot to clear the Redis Cache. Yes. There we go. Whew. Yes, dodging bullets would be exactly how that feels. Well, there are a few more issues, but they don't seem to require another environment rebuild. That's a four-hour process right now, and I really, really hope that is the last one. .@StarbeamOne Daily Status* Current Story: Last-Minute v2 Deployment Fires Notes: I am happy to report all the identified data issues were resolved yesterday, and I'm glad they were; otherwise, I was getting close to rage-quitting altogether. 😅 It's a bit of an emotional roller coaster over here; I will not lie. Finding a data problem that caused a 4-day deployment delay will do this. There were two full 12-hour shifts in there, too, meaning a full circle of the Earth was dedicated to solving this grief, and there were still issues with the application even once the latest deployment was made. Yes, I was able to get another deployment to Preview made, complete with a full rebuild of the file system, which took 4 hours. 😬 Yikes. But luckily, as I mentioned, the data looked good. So then it was onto testing said data with our application and every. single. attempt. had an error. Oof. See: said rage quitting. I stayed focused on the fact that these are edge cases, and 99% of the rest of the application works and looks great. So yeah, a roller coaster is a good way to describe my state right now. All said, I am feeling good about everything again. I have a few TODOs/tasks on my plate that I will address today. Boo. Yes, this also requires a complete environment rebuild, which, once all files are complete, takes about 2 hours. 💥 Even so, about 3 edge cases remain where files are unused/needed files. So hopefully today will be about figuring out those files and trying another rebuild. If that goes well, I will sync back to production + preview, and we'll give it another few days of testing. Of course. 😤 The data bug I cleaned up on Wednesday worked fine on my local environment but bombed with production data. I tried a few fixes, but no dice. So now I'm pulling the data back to my local environment and trying again from there. Boo. I spent the rest of the day getting my environment ready again, and I am at least able to do that. Today's goal is to fix this bug and hopefully get a full deployment. Once this is done, we'll be able to make the switch, which may be tomorrow if all goes well. .@StarbeamOne Daily Status* Current Story: Last-Minute v2 Deployment Fires Notes: I put out a few of those fires yesterday, but a major one erupted when I started testing the Re-issuance story, easily the most complex of our test cases. I am not sure why I didn't gravitate towards this one first, as it would probably have been the most effective. But also, I tested it extensively before publishing to preview, and I swear it worked. 😅 Well, it *does* work, but for v2 products. I found some pretty ugly challenges with converted v1 products yesterday, and unfortunately it's going to require a storage rebuild. Boo. .@StarbeamOne Daily Status* Current Story: Last-Minute v2 Deployment Fires Notes: I was more productive yesterday and finally rounded out the v2 blog announcement. It captures over 2.5 years of effort, and at roughly 3,000 words, I think I captured it well enough. 😅 There are a lot of new features, but more importantly, there are more revenue streams that will help keep us more viable as we go forward. That's not all that happened yesterday, as I realized to my horror that I managed to deploy on Saturday and cut our logs. 😭 I was wondering why things seemed a little *too* quiet (a little too good to be true). Dang, four days without logs during an important testing period. Well, there have been no user reports of anything going wrong, so I guess that's that, and we have logs actively churning now, with two more days left to find any remaining gremlins.
