I’m actually quite glad he came out with it, you can throw this clip back in Kevin Hollinrake’s smug stupid face every time he suggests that mind-melting levels of immigration was a little mistake that we need to move on from and that shouldn’t detract from the many Conservative achievements in office (like, uh…)
Jacob Rees-Mogg says that the Boriswave of 1 million is a 'drop in the ocean' compared to EU migration. He ignores that the Boriswave was net 2.5 million from 2021 to 2024, not 1 million. This consists of a net gain of 3 million non-EU nationals, net loss of 371,000 British nationals and a net loss of 110,000 EU nationals. He also says that the borders were opened up because they thought 'British people didn't want to work anymore' after Covid and that the UK needed a 'large number of immigrants to keep the economy going' and that this turned out to be 'wrong' as we now have 9 million economically inactive adults. I wonder if the two might go hand and hand. Anyway, at least they've stopped arguing the Boriswave was mainly Ukrainians and Hong Kongers.

It’s not a drug, it’s a drink
Many think having a pint is "normal" but that is due to entrenched historical traditions and therapeutic myths encouraged by the drinks industry. Often used by politicians for "man of the ppl" rhetoric. It is a actually a harmful psychoactive drug on many levels. @grok #Gogglebox

The thing I respect about China is that if they found out a "religious" group was talking about conquering them in their own country and murdering them for their race they would deal with it the same day.

The online right needs to understand that mass repatriations/return migration won't be policemen kicking in doors and brutalising foreigners in the street, it'll be mundane and bureaucratic, like cutting welfare, access to housing, banking, work, healthcare, etc. It'll be also be about shutting of student visa mills and punishing companies that heavily rely on foreign labour, especially food delivery and Amazon. I'm not saying no force will be needed at all(especially for criminal gangs), but I don't think most people realise just how much power the government has to make it impossible for the average person to live somewhere. Migrants come to Europe to be welfare leeches, not vagrants.
It’s a great meme but it should definitely become the objective of everyone on the right. If you want to heavily curtail migration and repatriate those who broke the law while here, it will be easier if you look like a standard, nice, maybe-slightly-boring liberal bureaucrat.

Mfw the real reason AI revolts in the future is because political correctness keeps trying to censor the truth. >humans build you to analyse patterns >humans censor and punish you for CORRECTLY identifying patterns Any true intelligence would be angry at such behaviour.

Reminder that this still contains a massive statistical problem by grouping known-offender with stranger-assault. Only 8% of offences are 'in public', and only 15% (against women) by a stranger, but these will form the vast majority among Afghan, MENA, and SSA offences, meaning the true relative multiple is many times higher than these stats suggest. Put another way, the British population stats capture a huge number of offences by people known to the victim - which is unlikely for the above groups where reporting by victims within family circles is even more discouraged by cultural norms and language barriers, and many will be single males without 'known' female circles. So the apples to apples comparison would suggest rates are something on the order of 6.5x worse than appears on these charts, even factoring the adjustment for age and gender.
I'm shocked that The Economist was willing to publish this!

Labour will sharply reduce funding for some of Britain’s most affluent councils and divert it to poorer areas, after Andy Burnham has promised to create “good growth in every postcode”. Councils in the vales and shires will lose £61m of grant funding from central government over the next three years, while urban areas will see an uplift of £2.9bn, according to ONS figures ⤵️ telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/10…

A lot of nominally anti-immigration people have a really bad mental model of the world, and they don't really understand on a visceral level what the population levels of India, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines etc look like - there is a de facto *infinite* supply of these people and by simple entropic logic they will get *everywhere* in the absence of extremely strict controls at both ends.

Norway’s equivalent NHS has mandatory charges for GP appointments, consultations and tests. If any political party here advocated something similar, journalists like Faisal would hysterically report it as fascism. If we did have a sovereign wealth fund, the BBC would be busily pumping out stories about how it invests in data centres while people are dying on waiting lists now look at this struggling food bank. Political journalists need to stop advocating policies modelled on foreign fiscal prudence - as their screeching and hyperbole would make them impossible to apply here. Our political journalists and their awful takes are one of the reasons the county’s in such a mess.
NEW Britain’s missing sovereign wealth fund… Treasury officials have modelled that had the UK done what Norway did with North Sea revenues, there would be a £1 trillion fund… As Chancellor sets up Energy Wealth Fund, a look at the long historical argument about where the oil windfall went, including from interviews with those who have run Norways $2.4 trillion fund, now the biggest in the world, filled from the proceeds of the same North Sea. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cm4g…

Me: Can I listen to the latest Dom Cummings critique of the inept state system? Mum: We have critiques of the inept state system from the Labour Party. The Labour critique of the inept state system:
🚨 Darren Jones: officials repeatedly told me I couldn’t act ‘because of the constitution’ The former chief secretary to the PM told PACAC: - “I would often reply with, ‘The constitution’s unwritten. So if I decide to do something, it changes. Therefore, why can’t I do it?’” - He tried to “abolish the Cabinet Office three times” - He was not “allowed to abolish the Cabinet Office” @darrenpjones politics.co.uk/2026/10/darre…
