NEWS: LSU star tight end Trey'Dez Green isn't listed on the Availability Report for the Auburn game. The expectation is that Green will play for the Tigers on Saturday.
JOSEPHINE FORMS
Subtropical Storm #Josephine has formed off of the U.S. East Coast as of Wednesday afternoon. The National Hurricane Center will initiate advisories at 4 PM CDT.
Josephine will move northeastward and away from the U.S. over the next couple of days after producing some high surf, coastal erosion, and gusty winds in some areas.

NHC will initiate advisories on Subtropical Storm Josephine (formerly AL93), located offshore of the U.S. East Coast, at 500 PM EDT (2100 UTC).
Just an unreal view of Super Typhoon #Champi in '3D' as it churns through the western Pacific as the equivalent of a Category 5 hurricane. Maximum sustained winds peaked at 185 mph earlier today, making it one of the strongest storms on the planet so far in 2026.
It is still unclear whether it will present a direct threat to Taiwan, but there is at least some hope that it will recurve east of the island nation. It is forecast to weaken some before closest approach to Taiwan. @WAFB

The delay may help with illumination of the exhaust plume but it will still be very low on the horizon. Best chances if you can find an unobstructed view to the ESE
Space Jellyfish Early Tuesday?
The Bandwagon-5 mission from SpaceX originally scheduled for Monday morning is now slated for early Tuesday. Projections indicate that a 'space jellyfish' MIGHT be visible as far west as SE Louisiana and SW Mississippi, but confidence is low.
If you're up early on Tuesday, look low on the horizon to the ESE just after 5:30 AM. Any obstructions such as trees or buildings will likely make it very difficult to see the launch.
On the flip side, Grand Isle was right on the edge of projected viewing locations with a launch a week ago, and yet the picture you see on this graphic was captured there. Projections for Tuesday's launch show *possible* viewing even farther west, but with it being so low on the horizon, the outlook is 'iffy' at best. The launch trajectory is a bit different this time too, taking the rocket east, or away from our area after launch.

12Z (7 AM) weather balloon releases are returning at WFO Lake Charles beginning November 1. These releases will provide additional and more consistent data to weather computer models supporting better forecasts both locally and nationally.

Our chance to possibly see a 'space jellyfish' delayed until Tuesday
Now targeting no earlier than Tuesday, October 20 for Falcon 9’s launch of the Bandwagon-5 rideshare mission from Florida due to unfavorable recovery weather conditions → spacex.com/launches/bandwago…
A 'Space Jellyfish' may be visible as far west as SE Louisiana early on Monday morning. It's in association with the Bandwagon-5 launch by SpaceX. The launch is currently scheduled for 5:30 AM CDT on Monday morning, and a 'space jellyfish' or 'jellyfish cloud' may be visible in our part of the world. However, it would be very low on the horizon, so you'll need an unobstructed view to east-southeast to have any chance. Map and projection via @spacejellyalert
NFL rules are something...land on a QB slightly wrong and it's 15 yards. Take a direct shot to his head on the sideline and no penalty.
Interesting...another "space Jellyfish" may be visible from parts of SE Louisiana on Monday morning
Space jellyfish alert!
The Bandwagon-5 rocket launch from Florida on October 19, 2026 at 6:30 AM EDT could produce a space jellyfish. This occurs when a rocket and its expanding exhaust plumes are illuminated by the sun and observers are in local darkness.
NOTE: This rare and unique trajectory is modeled as a best-guess estimate. This prediction may be inaccurate for distant viewers.
The rocket will enter sunlight 02m55s after launch.
