Such an awful, cruel moment. My deepest thoughts are with all those terminally ill people who would’ve chosen an assisted death, but instead will now suffer in agonising pain in their final days/weeks/months on this earth, because of a decision made by politicians.
Labour in Scotland looked at their worst election defeat in Scottish Parliament history and decided “yes, more of the same.” Bizarre.
I’m obviously not a Labour voter, but I have a high opinion of Monica, and I think it would be a crying shame if she was not on the ballot paper. Surely members deserve a real, meaningful choice?
I spoke at a round table event regarding assisted dying at the Scottish Parliament, about my experiences as a student nurse, which Monica attended. At a similar event a year later, she remembered my contribution & we had a really good chat, about a number of things.

Except HMRC said no such thing. Top-band receipts rose by £193m, the number paying the top rate rose by 17%, and Scotland’s total income-tax take rose by 9%. The £22m is one analyst’s estimate of what *might* have happened at 45%, based on assumptions he admits cannot be proved. Theory, not fact. @iScotNews
