Scotland's declining educational performance demands more than another round of reforms. Lindsay Paterson's latest book raises a fundamental question: has Curriculum for Excellence weakened the place of knowledge in our schools? Read here: bit.ly/sue175fh Can standards recover without restoring it?

In Why Transgender Ideology Matters, Jenny Cunningham examines how the language of rights is used to advance transgender ideology in Scottish schools, shifting authority from parents to the state. This is a fantastic maiden speech from Amanda Lindsay. She’s absolutely correct that the ridiculous “trans guidance” needs removing from the CfE asap. Enough children have been indoctrinated in this nonsense. 🚨
Amanda Lindsay, (Reform MSP Shadow Minister for Women & Equalities) delivered a truly well-measured and factual speech in the Scottish Parliament today. She rightly acknowledged the common ground on supporting high-quality childcare and giving every child the best possible start, while courageously addressing the profound concerns so many parents and professionals have about the ideological capture of our education and childcare systems. Social transition is not a neutral or kind act when applied to very young children who still believe in the Tooth Fairy. It’s deeply concerning that guidance promoting this was rolled out across Scotland. This wasn’t rhetoric; it was a calm, evidence-led call to put child safeguarding, biological reality, and women’s rights first. Refreshing to hear such straight-talking common sense in Holyrood. Well done Amanda.

Local authority education committees need to be reformed so that parents and teachers can challenge the rampant complacency about education and knowledge. bit.ly/sue2026holyrood #holyrood #holyrood2026

The SNP government has used the absence of curriculum content to politicise aspects of education. School values are no longer related to learning but are dictated by government. bit.ly/sue2026holyrood #holyrood #holyrood2026

Our history is rarely visited as a source of inspiration or ideas but cast instead as a realm of abuse and violence. This contempt for our predecessors is a deeply destructive cultural phenomenon. bit.ly/sue2026holyrood #holyrood #holyrood2026

Scotland needs to take a long hard look at its education system and the flawed ideologies that underpin the Curriculum for Excellence (CfE). Scottish education has sidelined the authority of the teacher in the classroom. bit.ly/sue2026holyrood #holyrood #holyrood2026

The CfE, introduced in 2010, has now been in place for an entire generation. We can say with certainty that it has been a failure. bit.ly/sue2026holyrood #holyrood #holyrood2026
