NEVER FORGET 🇺🇸 In 2016, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell refused to hold a confirmation hearing or vote on President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee, Judge Merrick Garland, for 293 DAYS.
McConnell argued that an election-year vacancy should not be filled before a new president was chosen, subsequently allowing the seat to remain vacant for almost a year until Trump appointed Neil Gorsuch in 2017.
If Democrats take over the Senate in 2027, they should refuse to allow a vote for ANY Trump nominee to the Supreme Court until January 2029.
They should say, "We're invoking the Mitch McConnell rule."

❗️U.S. Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal has called on Eastern Mediterranean Maritime Limited to change the route of the Malta-flagged tanker Agioi Fanendes, which left a Russian port on October 22 carrying nearly 40,000 tons of Russian diesel fuel and is heading for the ports of New York and New Jersey, with an expected arrival on November 7. He noted that the import of Russian petroleum products is banned under U.S. law passed in 2022, and that Treasury Department permits cannot override restrictions imposed by Congress. Blumenthal demands that the company recall the vessel, cease further operations involving Russian diesel, and by October 31 provide information on all parties involved in the supply as well as any instructions from U.S. agencies, warning: “Change course while there is still time.”

Ukrainian partisans think drones may have hit a Russian steel plant that supplies an S-400 missile maker
A fire broke out near the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant (NLMK) in Russia's Lipetsk late on 27 October as air defenses fired at incoming targets, the Ukrainian monitoring Telegram channel Exilenova+ reported. The Crimean Tatar-Ukrainian partisan movement Atesh said its agents believe the strike may have hit the plant.
Lipetsk's governor claims drone debris only set a tree belt alight and denies any large industrial fire.
NLMK is Russia's only producer of electrical steel, Ukrainska Pravda found in 2025, and its tax records showed sales to Moscow's Avangard plant, which builds S-400 missiles.
Russia also fires those missiles at ground targets in Ukraine.

They returned home, believing they would live to see the arrival of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Russians killed the entire family—nine people, including two children.
Today marks the third anniversary.
On the night of October 28, 2023, in Volnovakha, the occupiers killed the Kapkanets family—everyone who was inside the house on Donetska Street.
The victims included 51-year-old Tetiana and 53-year-old Eduard; their sons, Andrii and Oleksandr; their daughters-in-law, Natalia and Kateryna; their grandchildren, Anastasiia and Mykyta; as well as 18-year-old Dmytro—Kateryna’s brother.
The day before, they had gathered for a celebration—Tetiana’s birthday.
During the night, Russian soldiers entered the house and shot everyone.
Relatives surmise that Eduard refused to give alcohol to the occupiers. Locals also suggested another possibility: that the Russians wanted to seize the house.
The story of this family is the story of thousands of Ukrainian families—hardworking, close-knit, and always together.
They ran a farm, growing produce to sell at the market. They owned land, livestock, and a home they had just finished renovating.
When the full-scale invasion began, they left for Poland. But a few weeks later, they returned—unable to bear being away from their home, and believing that they would wait there for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"We urged them to leave. They listened and went away, but then they came back," says Serhii, Tetiana’s nephew. He still does not believe that the truth will be established. He says the occupiers will find scapegoats, and the real truth will only come to light once Volnovakha is liberated.
Today, October 28, 2026, marks the third anniversary of their deaths.
Tetiana would have turned 54. Her granddaughter, Anastasiia, would have started the seventh grade this year. Mykyta would have been eight.
They did not simply die. They died because they stayed home—because they believed in Ukraine.

Russian marketplace Ozon says UAV strikes caused 30.1 billion rubles, roughly $374 million, in estimated losses in Q3 2026 after fires hit 11 logistics facilities since August. The losses include damaged goods, fixed assets and other expenses. Some risks were insured, but compensation remains under negotiation, and Ozon warns any insurance payouts may not match the scale of the losses. #Russia

"Independence is not only the right to speak and think in your own language. Independence is not only the right to attend your own church and have your own God in your soul.
Independence is the right to choose your future.
That is the key. And this war is being fought precisely for that—to deprive us of the right to choose our future.
It is for this that we fight, die, battle and kill, so that at least our children may have this sacred concept of a future that they will choose themselves.”
