“The avg buy-to-let mortgage rate is now just over 6%, if it hits 6.5%, 44% of mortgaged landlords will not be making enough from rent to cover their costs. This rises to 54% if the avg rate were to reach 7%” @Hamptons1869 bit.ly/3oYT0co @thetimes @R_A_Mortimer

A good summary of the challenges within the PRS which have ultimately resulted in higher rents
@marykfoy I understand you’re keen to understand the reasons behind rents sky rocketing in the PRS. The answer is no ‘1 thing’ but a litany of failings by every gov of the last 30 years. Bare with me, this may take a while…..

An awful story. And to think #Croydon council are tasked with running licensing schemes to regulate private #landlords (for a hefty fee), yet this is how they look after their own stock. Pretty poor show.

We have a v strange way of dealing with property. No other industry is treated like this. If successive govts had built 1mn social homes from the receipts of selling 2mn council ones, we could house the vulnerable. Instead PRS is asked to do it 1st at a discount and now for free.
This is so right..
A few weeks ago I started feeling really bad and then realised almost everyone in my life was feeling bad too. So I tried to figure out why this lockdown is making people feel worse than any other time in the pandemic newstatesman.com/politics/he…
🌟We wish all our friends, contacts and tenants a safe, enjoyable, warm and cosy Christmas, and look forward to a bright and fun-filled 2021 for all🎄
This year, instead of sending cards, we have made a donation to British Red Cross - to support the amazing work they do. 🌟
💰Cash is king! That’s why it’s important to us that we ALWAYS pay our invoices and contractors as soon as we can. 🧾
Not only does it help the other business when we pay promptly, its builds trust and strengthens our reputation.

We’re looking for a conscientious and reliable fortnightly cleaner for our lovely shared house in #NewtonAbbot. Any recommendations, please?
