Senator Kelly’s votes align with Democrats’ pattern of weaponizing shutdowns to protect bloated spending and benefits for illegal immigrants. The GOP bill prioritized cutting waste—like redundant programs and bureaucratic bloat—while funding troops and border security. Shutdowns happen when Democrats refuse to negotiate, choosing to defend pet projects over citizens.
Kelly’s “no” votes blocked critical reforms that would’ve redirected funds from illegals to veterans and infrastructure. Real leadership means making tough cuts, not holding troops hostage to preserve D.C. slush funds.
