What I see…
Congress, politicians, hospital systems, and many of our own physician leaders don’t want physicians in the business of medicine.
They want us to be commodities—hired, traded, and replaced—while someone else owns the business and controls what our work is worth.
Deliver the care. Carry the liability. Meet the productivity targets. Leave ownership and negotiating power to someone else.
That’s the message I hear whenever physicians are told to “just focus on patient care.”

When I was a (plump) kid, they already had some pills of that kind in Switzerland. I could not eat, OK, but I felt unprotected and threatened. The pills killed the coping mechanism instantly. Eventually I had a nervous breakdown and started crying. They stopped the treatment.
The only way I lost tons, and durably, was longtime fasting on water only, decades later. The thing no doctor over here is allowed to recommend you.
