Just looking at a place on @Airbnb just now and seeing two different prices for the "service charge" for the identical property, identical days - one is while connected via VPN to a site in North Carolina, the other is not. What's the deal with this scam, Airbnb?

Someone used the oft-repeated mantra that you shouldn't automate a bad process. It occurred to me that sometimes it's worth automating a bad process if the result is still a desirable outcome and you've managed to do it more quickly without negatively impacting anyone...

Please spare us from any more legal-related "April Fool's" jokes on social media. They've all been done. They were kind of amusing the first time, years ago, but, not so much anymore.
Had various discussions with other in-house lawyers at an event today. Seems in-house lawyers and AI is a lot like teens and sex - everyone's talking about it, no one's really doing it, and those who say they're doing it aren't sure they're doing it properly.

This is the synagogue and Jewish student centre at @UniversityLeeds.
Last night, graffiti was sprayed on it saying โIDF off campusโ and โFree Palestineโ.
Also yesterday, Jewish students at @UniBirmingham were met with a banner reading โZionists off our campusโ.
This is not some sort of social justice movement. It is an attempt by thugs to intimidate Jews and drive them out of our universities.
The reaction of the universities must be swift and severe.
If students are responsible, they must be expelled and referred to the police. If it was people who are not students, the universities must scour their CCTV to help police to identify them.

Yes I know that we are not in a war zone.
But this is beginning to feel really dangerous.
Most Jews are Zionists because if you know what happened in the Holocaust and how every country shut its doors to Jews you know we need a country.
This sign is effectively saying โJews off our campus.โ And these students have been there emboldened to say that because of the weekly hate marches filled with antisemitism dressed as antizionism.
