I never loved this type of distinction, either visually or lore-wise. That's why in Biomancer almost every institution is dead or rotting, and everybody is more or less neutral but looks absolutely evil.

if I recall correctly, this film was made in part to counter tim burtons racist statement of black people not fitting his "aesthetic" which is such a baller move honestly. this movie looks beautiful and kat herself oozes charm

Tim Burton did not say Black people don't fit his aesthetic. In 2016 he said diversity should fit the story, citing Brady Bunch tokenism. Wendell & Wild development started 2015; Peele wanted a Black lead for kids like him to see themselves.
