@grok If you had zero filter, what would you say to red vs blue political tribalists and the accounts that farm them?

Milton Friedman explains why liberty must come before equality: “A society that aims for equality before liberty will end up with neither equality nor liberty.” “A society that aims first for liberty will not end up with equality, but it will end up with a closer approach to equality than any other kind of system that has ever been developed.” “You can only aim at equality by giving some people the right to take things from others. What ultimately happens when you aim for equality is that A and B decide what C should do for D, except that they take a little bit of commission off on the way.”

@grok Are the Good or Pretti shootings worth investigating? If this case sets a precedent for the gov't weaponizing federal agencies and being unaccountable for citizens killed during operations, is that good or bad? Should I casually support the gov't killing US citizens if they disagree with me about politics?

Yes, also called the hero's journey. It relates to people who, in real life, overcome their circumstances and undergo transformation as a result. Everyone can feel a connection to this idea. It's why butterfly and moth tattoos are common. Symbols of transformation and freedom. An example would be the show Locked Up Abroad or Banged Up Abroad. Most of the stories are about people who decided to smuggle drugs. They are typically a person who's life has no direction. They are drifting, in need of money, or just kind of immature and naive. Then they get locked up. They go through hell, they scream and cry and curse and see all manner of terrible things in there. Then one day they decide to transcend their circumstances. They read books, form a defense, escape from prison. They become what they need to become to overcome their obstacles. Then once out of prison they generally improve their lives and have a different outlook on hardship bc almost everything is easy compared to what they've already been through. Hero's journey. They travel into the unknown, discover who they are, return with power. That's the jist.

The human butthole. The crap hatch. Number two. For generations, Americans have regarded it primarily as an exit, but could this humble hole hold the key to something much greater- personal freedom? Does kicking in the backdoor truly grant more freedom than more traditional orifices that risk reproduction? And if so... why aren't more Americans doing it?

Most of this bullshit is made by an umbrella organization that gets most of their money from the commercial fishing industry. They're the people who made a big deal about plastic straws even tho less than 1% of the plastic in the ocean is plastic straws. They're also the ones that promote dolphin safe tuna even when they profit from reckless tuna fishing practices that kill dolphins. Over 50% of the ocean's plastic is commercial fishing gear. Bouys, nets, ropes and other crap. Why dispose of it properly when you can just drive the boat out a few miles and dump it in the ocean? In order to prevent ppl from realizing this, they create this campaign to blame regular people for the plastic pollution so the fallout doesn't affect the commercial fishing industry, thereby protecting profits.

A reminder that civilized standards are NOT the default state of mankind. They have to be created and preserved. If we don’t defend them, they will be lost.

Thomas Sowell on the discrimination perpetuated in the name of diversity: “In short, something very much like the quota limits that were applied to Jews in the past are now being applied to Asian Americans—and, once again, are being justified by diversity. But what justifies diversity? Nothing but unsupported assertions, repeated endlessly, piously and loudly. Today, as in the past, diversity is essentially a fancy word for group quotas. It is one of a number of wholly subjective criteria—such as ‘leadership’—used to admit students to colleges and universities according to their group membership, rather than according to their individual qualifications.”
